UNGA overwhelmingly passes five resolutions in favor of Palestine

NEW YORK, December 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) overwhelmingly passed five resolutions in favor of Palestine on Friday.

The UNGA passed the first resolution on Palestinian refugees with 151 states voting in favor, showing near‑universal backing for Palestinian refugees’ rights. Only 11 states opposed and 11 abstained, underscoring Israel’s growing isolation on the world stage.

The second UNGA Resolution on the UN agency for Palestinian refugees’ (UNRWA) operations was overwhelmingly passed with 145 states voting in favor, showing universal backing for renewing the Agency’s mandate for three years. Only 10 states voted against the decision, and 18 others abstained.

The third UNGA Resolution on Palestinian refugees’ properties and revenues was passed with a total of 157 states voting in favor. Only 10 states voted against the resolution, and nine others abstained.

FMs of several Arab and Islamic countries voice concern over Israeli remarks on opening the Rafa'h crossing in one direction

RIYADH, 5 December 2025 (WAFA) -

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Qatar voiced on Friday their concern over Israeli remarks on opening the Rafa'h border crossing in one direction for Palestinians to leave the Gaza Strip.

The ministers stressed their absolute rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land, underscoring the need for full adherence to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan, including opening the Rafa'h crossing in both directions, guaranteeing freedom of movement for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and ensuring that no resident of the Strip is forced to leave.

They stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip to remain on their land and participate in building their homeland, within a comprehensive vision to restore stability and improve their humanitarian conditions.

They reiterated their appreciation for President Trump’s commitment to establishing peace in the region, and affirmed the importance of moving forward with the implementation of his plan with all its obligations without any postponement or obstruction in a way that achieves security and peace and reinforces the foundations of regional stability.

They stressed the need to consolidate a full ceasefire, end the suffering of Palestinian civilians, ensure the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, initiate early recovery and reconstruction efforts, and create conditions for the Palestinian Authority to resume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, thereby laying the foundation for a new phase of security and stability in the region.

They affirmed their countries’ readiness to continue working and coordinating with the US and all relevant regional and international parties to ensure full implementation of the UNSC Resolution 2803 and all related resolutions, and to provide an enabling environment for the achievement of a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in accordance with the UN Resolutions and the two-state solution.

They added that this would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 borders, including the occupied territories in Gaza and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Despite Israeli barriers and restrictions, 60,000 Palestinians perform Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Friday 5-December-2025

El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

Around 60,000 Palestinians performed the Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque despite heavy Israeli restrictions and widespread military deployment across the Old City of El-Quds (occupied Jerusalem).

Jerusalem-based sources said tens of thousands of worshippers managed to reach the Mosque, even as Israeli occupation police forces closed several major streets leading to the holy site, creating severe delays and obstructing access to its gates.

From the early morning hours, police forces expanded their security measures across the Old City, deploying heavily around Al-Aqsa and erecting both fixed and mobile checkpoints at Bab El-Asbat and several other entrances. These measures significantly restricted movement and increased the hardship for Palestinians trying to reach the Mosque for prayers.

Witnesses reported that Israeli troops stopped groups of young men at Bab El-Sahira and barred them from entering Al-Aqsa, part of Israel’s ongoing policy of tightening access to worshippers, particularly on Fridays.

Eyewitnesses also noted that Israeli forces closed central routes near the Friday market, causing overcrowding and large gatherings of worshippers stuck in the streets.

These restrictions came as Palestinian activists urged mass attendance and steadfast presence inside Al-Aqsa to counter Israeli attempts, along with settler groups, to impose further limitations or alter the religious status quo at the holy site.

Despite the obstacles, thousands ultimately reached the Mosque’s courtyards and performed Friday prayer, underscoring Palestinians’ unwavering commitment to their religious and national rights in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Asra Media Office warns of real threat to the life of detained leader Marwan El-Barghouthi

Friday 5-December-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Asra Media Office has issued a serious warning about the real and growing threat to the life of imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan El-Barghouthi, 66, amid systematic attacks targeting him and his family as part of a clear policy of retaliation.

The Office said that a recent intimidation tactic targeted El-Barghouthi’s family through a phone call that spread fabricated and terrifying information about his condition, a method reflecting the broader Israeli strategy to pressure and terrorize prisoners’ families.

This latest violation, the Office noted, comes in parallel with ongoing isolation, torture, denial of visits, and open threats made by far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, all pointing to a deliberate intention to endanger El-Barghouthi’s life.

The Office held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for El-Barghouthi’s life and the lives of all prisoners, urging the United Nations, the Red Cross, and human rights organizations to intervene urgently, launch an independent investigation, and halt the escalating crimes inside Israeli prisons.

It emphasized that the silence of the international community gives the Israeli occupation a green light to continue its crimes against detainees and represents a serious failure in protecting their lives.

El-Barghouthi’s case: A marker of a broader atrocity

For its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) also held the Israeli occupation directly responsible for the fate of Marwan El-Barghouthi and all detainees, stating that what is happening amounts to a full-fledged campaign of extermination inside prisons, mirroring the widespread atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians.

In a statement on Friday, the PPS expressed heightened concerns over El-Barghouthi’s fate following a new act of psychological terror against his family, part of the Israeli systematic campaign to break the spirit of detainees and their loved ones.

This morning, a person claiming to be a released prisoner called the El-Barghouthi family and relayed disturbing and fabricated details about what El-Barghouthi is allegedly enduring. The PPS said this cannot be separated from the ongoing Israeli terror tactics against prisoners and their families, which amount to organized crimes.

Slow-death policies against prisoners

The PPS reaffirmed that the direct threats, physical abuse, and targeted attacks against El-Barghouthi and other prominent leaders of the prisoner movement are part of a broader policy of slow death and deliberate liquidation.

Thousands of detainees held in Israeli prisons face continuous abuse including torture, starvation, isolation, sexual assaults, and denial of medical care, all of which amount to executions in slow motion.

Prison authorities continue to isolate several prisoner leaders under harsh and degrading conditions, while subjecting them to collective punishment and ongoing violence. El-Barghouthi himself was publicly threatened in a video by extremist Minister Ben Gvir, in what the PPS described as clear incitement to kill prisoners, especially amid proposed legislation for the execution of detainees.

A call for urgent international action

The PPS stressed that the ongoing crimes against prisoners, without any form of accountability, are a stain on the conscience of the international community, which continues to provide cover for Israel’s policies of killing and repression.

The rights group also called for immediate and genuine international intervention to protect detainees and bring Israeli leaders to justice for their crimes.

Gaza Interior Ministry: Abu Shabab’s death is “every traitor’s fate”

Friday 5-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza confirmed that the death of Yasir Abu Shabab, a collaborator with the Israeli occupation regime forces, represents “the inevitable fate of every traitor who chooses to submit to the will of the Israeli occupation regime.”

The Ministry further called on all members of criminal gangs to immediately turn themselves in.

The Ministry expressed appreciation for the stance taken by Palestinian families and clans who, it said, have withdrawn their protection from those involved with the groups established by the Israeli occupation regime forces. This position, the Ministry added, strengthens efforts to safeguard the Palestinian internal front within the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry emphasized that the death of the criminal, Yasir Abu Shabab, represents the unavoidable end for anyone who chooses to be an instrument of the Israeli occupation regime forces against their own people. It further warned that the protection provided by the Israeli occupation regime forces would not last long.

It noted that the Israeli occupation regime has failed to undermine the unity and social cohesion of the Palestinian people, or to create divisions within its societal fabric. “The terrorist gangs formed by the (Israeli occupation regime forces) to destabilize internal security remain isolated, lacking any popular or social support, and are destined to vanish.”

The Interior Ministry called on all individuals involved with these groups to immediately turn themselves in, to the Palestinian security services, explaining that those who do so will have their cases handled in a way that allows for reduced judicial measures.

Gaza municipality warns of imminent health and environmental catastrophe

Friday 5-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Gaza Municipality warned on Friday that the city’s waste collection and disposal sector has entered a critical stage, with a near-total shutdown expected in the coming hours due to a complete depletion of fuel needed to operate its vehicles. The municipality cautioned of an impending health and environmental disaster that could hit the city.

In its statement, the municipality said that the current crisis is severely hindering the continuation of solid waste removal services amid an acute fuel shortage affecting trucks and field equipment. It confirmed that some vehicles will stop operating as of Saturday, directly disrupting garbage collection in several neighborhoods.

The statement added that Gaza is facing a dangerous accumulation of waste, with more than 350,000 cubic meters piling up in streets and temporary dumping sites, while crews are being denied access to the main landfill in the Ju'hr El-Deek area east of Gaza.

The municipality warned that these conditions create an ideal environment for the spread of infectious diseases and the proliferation of rodents, mosquitoes, and other pests, posing a direct threat to the health of residents, especially children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

It further cautioned that continued denial of access to the landfill and fuel supplies would lead to a complete collapse of the sanitation sector, worsening the deteriorating humanitarian situation and escalating daily health risks.

The Gaza Municipality concluded by calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and urgently to supply fuel and allow access to the main landfill to prevent a worsening crisis that could spiral into an uncontrollable environmental and health disaster.

Israeli violations, bombardment escalate despite US statements about phase two

Friday 5-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Israeli aggression resumed across several areas of the Gaza Strip on Friday morning, with intense artillery and aerial bombardments accompanied by gunfire from military vehicles positioned along the battlefronts.

The PIC correspondent reported that the northeastern areas of Khan Younus City were heavily shelled, alongside continuous gunfire from Israeli helicopters within what is known as the “yellow line” east of the city.

Israeli warplanes also struck El-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City with multiple air raids, while other airstrikes targeted areas in Rafa'h and east of El-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. The escalation extended to the sea, as Israeli naval boats opened fire off the coast of Khan Younus.

In parallel with the escalation, Israeli occupation forces launched a wide “fire belt” campaign in Rafa'h City early Friday, accompanied by continued demolitions in several neighborhoods.

Official data confirms that Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10. Since its implementation, more than 500 violations have been recorded.

In related political news, the American news outlet Axios revealed that US President Donald Trump is preparing to announce the launch of the second phase of the peace process in Gaza before Christmas.

According to the report, American officials expect a meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before the end of the month to discuss the framework of the next phase of the agreement.

Officials indicated that the Peace Council led by Trump will oversee governance in Gaza during the upcoming stage, with the official announcement expected in the coming weeks.

Well-informed sources confirm that Washington and other mediators are working to ensure all necessary elements are in place to support the success of the second-phase agreement, amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to ensure its continuity and implementation on the ground.

Several Palestinians injured by the IOFs and settler attacks in West Bank

Friday 5-December-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

The West Bank witnessed a series of Israeli military raids on Friday that resulted in several casualties and arrests, alongside ongoing settler attacks against Palestinian farmers.

In El-Jalazoan refugee camp, north of El-Beereh, two citizens were injured by live bullets and shrapnel during clashes that erupted after Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) stormed the camp and spread through its alleyways.

Local sources reported that one of the injured was shot in the hand with live ammunition, while the other was wounded in the foot by shrapnel, after the IOFs fired live bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas.

In Jineen, a 57-year-old man sustained injuries and bruises after the Israeli occupationsoldiers severely beat him at the Barta’a military checkpoint before he was transferred to the hospital.

Earlier on Friday, the IOFs raided the town of Barta’a, stormed several homes, vandalized their contents, and kidnapped a number of residents. Prisoner advocacy groups also reported theft of money and widespread destruction during the raids.

In southern El-Khaleel (Hebron), the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped a citizen from the village of 'Arab El-Zuwaideen while he was plowing his land. Meanwhile, a group of settlers under military protection prevented farmers from accessing their land and herding livestock in the El-Zuwaideen area of the Yatta wilderness, forcing them to leave.

Armed illegal Israeli settlers also pitched a tent on Palestinian-owned land in Khellet El-Natsh, in the Jabal Johar neighborhood east of El-Khaleel (Hebron) city.

In Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), the Israeli occupation forces set up a military checkpoint in the “Um Rukbah” area of El-Khadhir town, south of the governorate, stopping and searching vehicles and preventing citizens from passing.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap Palestinian from El-Khaleel (Hebron)

El-Khaleel (Hebron), December 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces on Friday evening kidnapped a Palestinian from the southern occupied West Bank district of El-Khaleel (Hebron), according to a local activist.

Osama Makhamra said that the occupation forces rounded up a Palestinian from the governorate.

Meanwhile, local activists said that the occupation forces barged their way into El-Beereh city neighborhood of Jabal El-Taweel, and fired barrages of live ammunition, tear gas, and concussion grenades.

In Ramallah governorate, heavily-armed Israeli infantry soldiers stormed Kafr Malik village, and fired volleys of concussion and tear gas canisters.

No casualties were reported.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which also take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

Israeli raid and kidnapping campaign targets multiple West Bank towns

Friday 5-December-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

According to local sources in Bethlehem, an Israeli military unit stormed the Khellet El-Loaz area southeast of the city, kidnapping a young man after violently raiding and searching his home.

The campaign extended to Jineen Governorate, where the IOFs carried out a large-scale incursion into the town of Barta’a in the northwest. The raid was accompanied by assaults on civilians, abuse of several individuals, and a wave of kidnappings targeting numerous homes.

In Salfeet, the IOFs raided a house in El-Wadi El-Matwi area, scoured it, and then withdrew without any kidnappings reported.

Supported by the United States and European nations, the Israeli campaign has included killings, starvation, destruction, mass displacement, and widespread arrests.

PPS: Transferring Mu'hammed Abu Tair to Rakevet underground facility is a ‘death sentence’

Friday 5-December-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) has said that Israeli prison service’s decision to transfer elderly Jerusalemite detainee Mu'hammed Abu Tair, 75, to the underground Rakevet facility in Nitzan Prison amounts to a death sentence and reflects a systematic policy aimed at physically eliminating detainees, particularly prisoners from Gaza, who have faced the harshest abuses since the start of the genocide.

According to the PPS statement on Thursday, the Israeli occupation renewed Abu Tair’s administrative detention for an additional four months, just eight days after he was re-arrested during a raid on his home in Bethlehem, continuing what it described as a decades-long campaign of targeted retaliation against him.

Abu Tair has spent more than 44 years in Israeli prisons since the 1970s, most of them under arbitrary administrative detention without charge or trial. A former member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, he has been repeatedly detained, expelled from Jerusalem, stripped of his residency and today suffers from chronic health problems caused by prolonged imprisonment.

The PPS held Israel fully responsible for Abu Tir’s life and the lives of all detainees, noting that the Rakevet facility, reopened after the war, has become, according to documented rights testimonies, a site associated with torture, terror and slow death for prisoners from Gaza.

The PPS added that as of November 2025, Israel is holding 3,368 administrative detainees without charge or trial, including nine former lawmakers, underscoring a continued policy that violates basic human rights and international humanitarian law.

Israeli forces notify removal of hundreds of olive trees in Tuqu' village near Bait La'hm (Bethlehem)

Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), December 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces issued notifications on Friday demanding the removal of hundreds of olive trees in the town of Tuqu', southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), according to local sources.

The trees belong to various families from the village, with no valid justification for the removal.

Abu Mufarri'h emphasized that the trees are aged over 35 years, and that this action could affect additional trees, pointing to the larger goal of attempting to seize land for colonial purposes.

Illegal Israeli settlers assault Palestinian farmers south of El-Khaleel (Hebron)

El-Khaleel (Hebron), December 5, 2025 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Friday assaulted Palestinian farmers in Tal Ma'een, east of Yatta city, south of the occupied West Bank city of El-Khaleel (Hebron), according to local sources.

Local anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamra said that colonists broke into the Palestinian community, chased and cursed shepherds and farmers, and prevented them from plowghing their lands.

The assailants, who came from the colonial outposts of Mitzpe Yair and Avigayil, attempted to run over several children while the latter were playing in the vicinity of a Palestinian’s dwelling in Masafir Yatta.

Located in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli administrative and military control, the area has been subjected to repeated Israeli violations by settlers and soldiers targeting their main source of living - livestock.

It has been designated as a closed Israeli military zone for training since the 1980s and accordingly referred to as Firing Zone 918.

Israeli violations against the area include the demolition of animal barns, homes, and residential structures. The issuance of construction permits by Israel to local Palestinians in the area is nonexistent.

Systematic settler violence surges as West Bank communities face arson, land destruction

Friday 5-December-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

Several areas across the West Bank witnessed a new wave of settler attacks early Friday, targeting Palestinian property and agricultural land in what has become a near-daily escalation carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

In the northern Jordan Valley, local sources reported that settlers cut water supply lines in Khirbet El-Dair.

Human rights activist 'Aarif Daraghma said the attackers destroyed the water pipes belonging to resident 'Ammar Jihad Daraghma in yet another attempt to deprive families of natural resources and pressure them to leave the area.

In the village of El-Tayba east of Ramallah, settlers set fire to two vehicles before dawn and spray-painted racist slogans, marking another episode in a growing pattern of organized attacks on Palestinian towns and villages.

Additional violations were documented in other parts of the Ramallah governorate. Dozens of olive trees were uprooted in the farmland of Turmus 'Ayya, northeast of the city, by bulldozers driven by settlers and escorted by IOF soldiers. The destroyed groves represent a lifeline for many farmers and lie in agricultural zones facing increasing settlement pressure.

Residents also reported an unusual incident in El-'Auja waterfall area, where a settler tied a donkey to a Palestinian family’s fence in what locals described as a deliberate act of provocation.

Meanwhile, settlers gathered inside the Jisr El-Khalah area east of Ramallah in a show of force designed to intimidate residents and spread fear.

These incidents reflect a growing pattern of coordinated settler attacks carried out with military backing, targeting Palestinian presence, livelihoods and agricultural infrastructure across rural communities.

The rights group Al-Baydar said the surge in settler assaults has become part of a systematic campaign of harassment, urging immediate action to stop attacks that threaten the daily lives of residents and aim to undermine their ability to remain on their land.

'Hamas lauds Chinese aid to Gaza and values Beijing’s historic support for Palestine

Friday 5-December-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Islamic Resistance Movement, 'Hamas, on Thursday evening welcomed China’s announcement of $100 million in humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, considering this step a reflection of Beijing’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause.

The Movement expressed its appreciation to Chinese President Xi Jinping and to the People’s Republic of China, affirming that the new support aims to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians under ongoing aggression and contribute to reconstruction efforts.

'Hamas noted that this initiative comes as an extension of China’s historic positions supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to freedom, independence, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Chinese President Xi Jinping had announced, during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, that his country would provide the mentioned amount in support of the besieged Gaza Strip and efforts to ease the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.

"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32).

"And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93).

"If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7).

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
