While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces commit three massacres in Gaza over the past 24 hours

GAZA, September 11, 2024 (WAFA) -

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime army committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, resulting in the killing of 39 civilians and the injury of 123 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The number of people killed since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, has surged to 43,508, the majority of whom are children and women. Some 102,684 others have been wounded.

Thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams are facing difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks, the massive amount of debris and the shortage of fuel and heavy equipment.

Casualty data in Gaza are incomplete due to the intensive Israeli aggression, the repeated and complete interruption of communication and internet services, lack of fuel and devastated infrastructure, which render it difficult to document figures.

The Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 399

Friday 8-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 399th consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Friday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens.

The Israeli army’s large-scale genocidal campaign in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalya and Beit Lahya, has entered day 35, where its forces continue to intensively bomb homes and shelters and attack civilians while imposing a tight siege on the entire area.

The Israeli army also continued their deliberate attacks on ambulance and civil defense workers for the 17th day, depriving northern Gaza of any rescue services.

Four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid that targeted a house near Al-Mashtal Hotel, northwest of Gaza City.

A fisherman was also killed and three others were injured in Israeli shelling on the coast of Rafa'h city, south of the Gaza Strip.

Several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli air strike that targeted a house in the Abu Ma’la area, northwest of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip.

Several Palestinians were killed and injured in Israeli bombing at the 'Hamdan Hall in  Al-Junaina area in Rafah, south of the Strip.

The Israeli army also continued to blow up residential areas in the northern areas of the Gaza Strip.

Four citizens were killed and others were injured when the Israeli forces targeted a house in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood in the town of Bait Lahya, north of the Strip.

Israeli genocidal airstrikes on Gaza Strip kill several Palestinians, injure others

GAZA, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) –

The Israeli genocidal airstrikes targeting several sites in the Gaza Strip Friday evening killed several Palestinians and injured others, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli fighter jets targeted a tent sheltering displaced persons in Al-Ta'hliya area, east of Khan Younus city in the southern Strip, killing two people.

Israeli fighter jets also targeted civilians’ houses in the Al-Junaina area in Rafa'h in the southern Strip, resulting in several fatalities.

He added that the occupation forces have so forth killed 184 Palestinian journalists and media personnel in the Strip.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafa'h, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 43,508 Palestinians and injuring over 102,684 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.

Israeli occupation forces tighten restrictions on northern West Bank checkpoint

TOUBAS, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Friday evening tightened restrictions on Tayaseer checkpoint, east of the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces tightened access restrictions at the checkpoint, stopping Palestinian-registered vehicles, inspecting passengers’ ID cards and preventing direct free passage of Palestinians between the West Bank and the Jordan Valley in both directions.

Israeli occupation has tightened military restrictions at the intermittently staffed checkpoint, a main access between Tubas and the Jordan Valley, for over a year, frequently closing it to Palestinians, including to vegetable and fruit merchants.

Israel severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of over 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions.

Closures besides other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 57-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.

Friday 8-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The number of martyred Palestinian journalists since the start of the Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, has risen to 184.

The Government Media Office in Gaza said in a statement on Friday that journalist Khalid Abu Zar, who works as a journalist for the Voice of Youth Radio, was martyred in an Israeli occupation bombing, bringing the number of martyred journalists to 184 since the start of the genocide war on the Gaza Strip.

It called on the international community and international organizations concerned with journalistic work in the world to deter the occupation and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and to pressure it to stop the crime of genocide in Gaza.

During the year of the war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation targeted journalists killing dozens of them or directly targeting them while they were working in the field, which resulted in injuries, many of which led to the amputation of limbs of the injured journalists.

Israeli occupation forces attack Palestinians near Al-Khaleel (Hebron)

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), November 8, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Friday evening attacked Palestinians in Al-Ras area close to Wadi al-Hasin, located to the east of the occupied West Bank city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and local sources.

They said that the occupation soldiers held and brutally assaulted several Palestinians along with their families in the area, causing a person to sustain wounds in the head and inflicting bruises across the bodies of several others.

They added that the soldiers held the aforementioned people and their families as the latter attempted to access their houses in the area.

Over 750 Palestinian families living in Al-Ras area as well as in other neighborhoods in the Old City of Hebron face harsh living conditions due to the alarmingly rise in the assaults committed by Israeli occupation forces and colonists.

Since October 7, 2023, approximately 11 neighborhoods in the Old City of Hebron are subjected to curfew in the evening hours, whereby inhabitants are denied access out of their houses and subjected to tightened mobility restrictions, not to mention attacks by armed illegal settlers.

The city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), which houses the Ibraheemi Mosque, is home to roughly 160,000 Palestinian Muslims and about 800 notoriously aggressive illegal Israeli settlers who live in compounds heavily guarded by Israeli troops.

Israel has expelled the only international monitors protecting Al-Khaleel (Hebron)’s Palestinians from 800 heavily guarded settlers, one of whom committed the 1994 massacre that triggered their deployment.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap eight Palestinians from southern West Bank village

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), November 8, 2024 (WAFA) –

Israeli occupation forces Friday kidnapped eight Palestinians from Al-Tabaqa village, southwest of the occupied West Bank city of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that the occupation forces barged their way into the village, deploying in its streets and between the villagers’ houses.

The soldiers muscled inside several houses, detained and escorted eight young men, all identified as members of the 'Hamdan and Abu Ras families, to the military tower set up at the entrance of the nearby Kharsa village.

The occupation forces daily conduct detention raids against the villagers of Al-Tabaqa, escorting detainees to the military tower, savagely beating them up and subjecting them to interrogation for hours.

Earlier today, the occupation forces rounded up five Palestinians from Al-Khaleel (Hebron) Governorate.

Security sources identified two of the detainees as residents of the south Al-Khaleel (Hebron) City and two others as residents of the Yatta city, and the other one as a resident of Bait Ummar town.

Mu'hammed 'Awad, a media activist, said that in the course of the raid in Beit Ummar, the soldiers broke into the family house of a slain Palestinian, locked the entire family in a room for over two hours, at a time when they wreaked havoc inside, vandalized a vehicle and brutally assaulted several young men in the house.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which also take place in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.

According to the latest figures from Al-Dhameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 10,100 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 270 children and 95 female prisoners.

This number includes 3,398 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing.

The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Al-Dhameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one.

Illegal Israeli settlers cut down olive trees, attack Palestinian properties in Al-Khaleel (Hebron)'s Masafir Yatta

Al-Khaleel (Hebron), November 8, 2024 (WAFA) -

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers Friday evening destroyed olive trees and attacked Palestinian residents' properties in the Masafir Yatta area, south of Al-Khaleel (Hebron), according to a local activist.

Anti-illegal settlement activist, Osama Makhamra, told WAFA that colonists from the illegal colony of Susya destroyed olive trees and water pipes and cut a fence owned by a resident in the area.

Masafir Yatta is home to 12 villages whose inhabitants have faced the constant threat of forced displacement for decades, due to the establishment of ten illegal Israeli settlements, outposts and military firing zones for training.

The area is frequently subjected to repeated attacks by Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers.

Israeli occupation forces prevent Palestinian farmers and foreign activists from picking olives south of Nablus

NABLUS, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) -

Israeli occupation forces Friday prevented Palestinian farmers and foreign volunteers from picking olives in the village of Burin, south of Nablus, said a local official.

Ibrahim Imran, head of the Burin village council, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers stormed the southern part of the village, prevented farmers and foreign activists from picking olives and forced them to leave.

This year's olive harvest season in the West Bank has been marked by recurring attacks by colonists and the occupation forces, involving acts such as murder, burning and cutting down of olive trees, stealing crops, and blocking farmers from accessing their land.

The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reports that between the start of this year's olive harvest and October 29, occupation forces and colonists have conducted 239 attacks on olive harvesters, including 109 incidents where farmers were denied access to their land.

These attacks led to the killing of a 60-year-old woman, who was identified as 'Hanan Abdul Ra'hman Abu Salamah, from the village of Faqqua northeast of Jineen, and the injury of over 50 others. Additionally, the attacks resulted in the burning of hundreds of olive trees and the theft of crops.

Supporters of Palestine confront Israelis in Amsterdam who tore down the Palestinian flag

Friday 8-November-2024

AMSTERDAM, (PIC)

The scene began with chants of “Death to Arabs” and ended with “Freedom for Palestine.” This is how events unfolded in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam on Thursday evening when Israelis started their attacks and chants against Arabs, only to be met by supporters of the Palestinian cause.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that 10 Israelis were injured and two others went missing after being attacked in Amsterdam following a match between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv in the European League, which ended with Ajax winning 5-0.

The incident began with attacks carried out by Israelis, including tearing Palestinian flags from homes as they headed to the stadium, alongside chanting racist slogans against Arabs and Palestinians. The Israeli military stated that it is preparing to send a force to the Netherlands to assist in evacuating Israelis who were attacked, adding that the mission “will arrive on a cargo plane and will include medical and rescue teams.”

Sources confirmed that clashes erupted with Israeli fans after they tore down the Palestinian flag. The behavior of the Israelis sparked outrage among supporters of the Palestinian cause, who are affected by the scenes of destruction perpetrated by the Israeli occupation army over the past 13 months in Gaza, prompting them to confront the Israelis.

The Israeli National Security Council urged the Israelis in Amsterdam to avoid moving around the streets and to stay in their hotel rooms, indicating the extent to which they have become pariahs.

According to Palestinian media reports, Israeli fans were attacked by supporters of the Palestinian cause after several Israeli fans tore down the Palestinian flag. Some supporters managed to detain the Israeli individuals who were chanting racist slogans and forced them to chant “Freedom for Palestine” in order to let them go, while Palestinian supporters shouted slogans for freedom. For its part, the Amsterdam police stated that they deployed additional forces in the capital after signs of tensions in several areas.

'Hamas: Gaza ‘massacres’ lead to scenes like Amsterdam unrest

Friday 8-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said Friday that unrest in Amsterdam, following a European League match, reflects the spontaneous repercussions of Israel’s continued “massacres” in Gaza, with no international intervention to stop them.

Abu Zuhri said in press statements that “the events in Amsterdam confirm that the ongoing genocide in Gaza, broadcast live without international action to halt it and hold those responsible accountable, can lead to such spontaneous reactions.”

He added, “Ending the genocide in Gaza is fundamental to respecting and protecting human rights, ensuring regional and global peace and security.”

Dutch police arrested 62 people following disturbances and riots in Amsterdam, sparked by anti-Arab chants from Maccabi Tel Aviv fans during their late Thursday game against Ajax.

Following Ajax’s 5-0 victory, tensions remained high, with Maccabi Tel Aviv fans chanting insults about Palestinians and Arabs, as well as acts of vandalism, including the removal of Palestinian flags from Amsterdam.

Videos posted on social media showed Israeli fans yelling anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian obscenities.

Israel has continued a devastating offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023. The onslaught has killed over 43,500 victims and rendered the enclave almost uninhabitable.

Israeli fans tear down Palestinian flag, spark chaos in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) -

Ahead of a Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israeli fans in Amsterdam ripped down a Palestinian flag from a building near Rokin Canal Street late Thursday.

After Israeli fans tore down the Palestinian flag, they chanted anti-Arab slogans, sparking counter-protests from Palestinian supporters. The situation quickly escalated into violent clashes, leading to several injuries.

Video footage circulating online showed Israeli fans stirring tensions before the match by refusing to observe a minute of silence for the victims of the Valencia floods. They instead lit fireworks during the moment of silence, while the rest of the crowd remained silent.

French students protest official's visit to Lyon 3 over pro-'Israel' stance

By Al-Mayadeen English

November 8, 2024

Pro-Palestine students from Lyon 3 University attempt to block the arrival of French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet in protest of her stance in support of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

In protest of the official French stance supporting "Israel's" genocide in Gaza, students from Lyon 3 University blocked the institution’s entrances and filled the campus with slogans supporting Gaza and Palestine during the visit of French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet.

Students wrote phrases on the walls, such as "Yaël is complicit," "Yaël, get out of our way," and "Israel is a killer."

On Friday afternoon, dozens of students gathered outside the university to denounce Braun-Pivet’s visit, accusing her of supporting the policies of "Israel" in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing genocide in Gaza for over a year.

The students began protesting in the street before successfully entering the university, chanting against Braun-Pivet: "Complicit in genocide, leave our universities," while waving Palestinian flags.

French media outlets reported that the student union said that "several lectures were disrupted before security forces were able to force the protesters out," noting that under "tight security arrangements," the demonstrators were unable to prevent the deputy, who has been head of the National Assembly since 2022, from attending or participating in a conference with students from the Polygon Association.

On her part, Braun-Pivet expressed her "deep sadness over the events of the day."

She told French media: "It is very unfortunate that some prefer to resort to insults and obstruction rather than dialogue. I was ready to have a discussion with them if they wanted. Since entering politics, I’ve tried to adopt balanced positions and delve into the complexities of issues, but I’ve noticed that it has become more difficult in public debate. However, there is no turning back. For this reason, I insisted on coming to the university. I would have considered it a very serious matter for our democracy if I had not been able to do so."

It is worth noting that the National Assembly in France is the lower house of the French Parliament, which is a bicameral legislature. It plays a key role in the legislative process, with its members, known as deputies, elected by direct universal suffrage for a term of five years.

The National Assembly has the authority to propose and amend legislation, in addition to holding the government accountable. It works alongside the upper house, the Senate, to form the legislative power in the French government.

French universities and academic institutions have witnessed a series of student protests against the war on the Gaza Strip.

French MP to propose bill banning 'Israel' criticism

Earlier, a Zionist member of France's parliament proposed criminalizing all criticism of "Israel", which has provoked an outcry among activists and lawmakers.

Caroline Yadan, a member of the French National Assembly, will propose legislation that, among other things, prohibits "the denial of the State of Israel," and restricts free speech like using the phrase "from the river to the sea," during pro-Palestine rallies.

In a statement on X, European legislator Rima Hassan wrote that "Israel" "deserves criticism" because it has "violated all United Nations resolutions for decades and commits the most heinous international crimes."

French poet and novelist Jean-Philippe Cazier called the effort a way to "suppress the freedom of thought, criticism, and writing," stating on X that Yadan is looking to "prevent condemnation of the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza.”

Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament, also remarked that if there is just one regime "that deserves criticism, it is Israel."

Hassan detailed how the Israeli occupation "violated all United Nations resolutions for decades and commits the most heinous international crimes."

Tensions between France and the Israeli occupation have been high after Emmanuel Macron repeatedly urged nations to halt weapon deliveries to "Israel" if those arms are utilized in Gaza and Lebanon. He also stated privately that Netanyahu should not "ignore United Nations decisions" because "his country was created by a U.N. decision," remarks that prompted outrage from Netanyahu.

Protesters in Paris rally against gala featuring Israeli minister Smotrich

PARIS, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) –

Supporters of Palestine in France Thursday rallied against a gala that would feature Israeli Jewish supremacist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).

It said that participants in the rally gathered at Trocadero Square near the Eiffel Tower in the capital, demanding that French authorities cancel the gala organized by the Israel Forever Foundation and scheduled on November 13 in Paris.

The organizers of the gala have as their objective the “mobilization of francophone Zionist forces in the service of the power and history of Israel.”

It added that the demonstrators chanted slogans including "No gala in Paris for Smotrich and his associates" and "Long live Palestinian resistance" in protest of the event.

The protest featured Palestinian and Lebanese flags along with banners that read "The West is responsible for the genocide in Gaza" and "Murderer Smotrich."

Among the participants were French politicians, anti-Zionist Jewish civil society groups and rabbis.

Last month, Thomas Portes, a lawmaker from the opposition France Unbowed party, submitted an official request to the Paris Police Department to cancel Smotrich's participation in the gala.

On Nov. 4, six organizations, including the French Human Rights League, issued a joint statement calling for the event to be canceled.

ýUN: 70% of victims of Israeli aggression on Gaza are children and women

GENEVA, November 8, 2024 (WAFA) -

The UN Human Rights Office said close to 70 percent of the victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip are children and women, indicating a systematic violation of the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law, including distinction and proportionality.

The UN Human Rights Office today published a report covering the six months from November 2023 to April 2024, broadly examining the killing of civilians and breaches of international law that in many instances could amount to war crimes.

“The International Court of Justice, in its series of orders on provisional measures, underscored the international obligations of Israel to prevent, protect against and punish acts of genocide and associated prohibited conduct,” said the report.

UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk stressed the imperative for Israel fully and immediately to comply with those obligations. This is even more critical and urgent, given the totality of conduct set out in the report and taking into account most recent events, including Israel’s operations in North Gaza and its adoption of legislation affecting UNRWA’s activities, he said.

“It is essential that there is due reckoning with respect to the allegations of serious violations of international law through credible and impartial judicial bodies and that, in the meantime, all relevant information and evidence are collected and preserved,” he said.

Türk recalled States’ obligations to act to prevent atrocity crimes, and urged them to support the work of accountability mechanisms, including the International Criminal Court, in relation to the current conflict; exercise universal jurisdiction to investigate and try crimes under international law in national courts, consistent with international standards; and comply with extradition requests pertaining to suspects of such crimes to countries where they would receive a fair trial.

The report points to repeated statements from Israeli officials positing the end of the conflict as contingent upon Gaza’s entire destruction and the exodus of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, it documents efforts to rationalize discrimination, hostility and violence towards, and even the elimination of, Palestinians.

The report shows how civilians have borne the brunt of the attacks, including through the initial “complete siege” of Gaza by Israeli Forces, as well as the Israel Government’s continuing unlawful failures to allow, facilitate and ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and repeated mass displacement.

This conduct by Israeli Forces has caused unprecedented levels of killings, death, injury, starvation, illness and disease, the reports said.

The High Commissioner calls on Member States, consistent with their obligations under international law, to assess arms sales or transfers and provision of military, logistical or financial support to a party to the conflict, with a view to ending such support if this risks serious violations of international law.

The report also raises concerns with respect to forcible transfer, attacks on hospitals, in an apparent systematic fashion, and journalists. It also points to the reported use of white phosphorus munitions.

“Our monitoring indicates that this unprecedented level of killing, and injury of civilians is a direct consequence of the failure to comply with fundamental principles of international humanitarian law – namely the principles of distinction, proportionality and precautions in attack,” Türk said. “Tragically, these documented patterns of violations continue unabated, over one year after the start of the war.”

“The violence must stop immediately,” he said, urging focus on flooding Gaza with humanitarian aid.

Red Cross: The situation in Gaza is catastrophic and there is no information on prisoners

Friday 8-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza, Hisham Muhanna, described the health situation in northern Gaza as terrifying and extremely critical, and continuously deteriorating, especially following evacuation orders issued by the Israeli occupation forces, which included three hospitals struggling to operate in the northern region.

Muhanna explained that “the difficult conditions in Gaza are severely worsening due to ongoing displacement and a lack of humanitarian support, making the situation extremely catastrophic over time.”

In an interview with the “Arabi21” website, he added that the ICRC is facing serious challenges in transferring patients to hospitals, as these facilities are suffering from a severe shortage of essential medical supplies. He noted that after continuous efforts, they were able to evacuate some critical cases a few days ago, but hospitals still need a sustainable supply of medications, fuel, and basic equipment.

Muhanna indicated that the Red Cross’s efforts are focused on supporting the health system, providing drinking water, and offering cash-for-work opportunities for those affected, in collaboration with municipalities and health authorities. He pointed out that the humanitarian response faces increasing challenges, as the number of patients and injured exceeds the capacity of hospitals, which have suffered due to years of closures and restrictions on the movement of people and goods.

Suffering of prisoners The spokesperson for the ICRC in Gaza also mentioned that the Israeli authorities’ decision to prevent Red Cross visits to prisons remains in effect, increasing the suffering of Palestinian families seeking information about their loved ones.

He confirmed that the Red Cross continues to work with the families of thousands of Palestinians reported missing in Gaza to gather important information that helps uncover their fate and whereabouts, saying, “We demand that they be allowed to communicate with their families in accordance with international humanitarian law.”

Muhanna also called on the international community to do more to support humanitarian teams and protect infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, urging the concerned parties to “ensure the safe and regular entry of humanitarian supplies to meet the needs of millions of affected civilians in Gaza, where there is still a significant shortage of essential aid.”

'Hamas condemns Israel’s new deportation law

Friday 8-November-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Palestinian Resistance Movement strongly condemned the Israeli parliament’s final approval of a law allowing the deportation of Palestinian resistance fighters’ family members.

'Hamas called the measure an affirmation of Israel’s hostile and racist approach to Palestinian people in all places where they are present.

It added that the law violates the most basic standards of human rights and is an example of collective punishment that violates international humanitarian law.

“We call on the international community and human rights institutions to condemn this law, which violates the most basic standards of human rights and falls within the policy of collective punishment that violates international humanitarian law, and to take measures and procedures that oblige the occupation to retract these unjust laws that degrade human dignity,” 'Hamas said.

Earlier Thursday, the Israeli parliament gave its final approval to controversial legislation that allows the government to deport the family members of Palestinian resistance fighters, including Palestinian citizens of Israel as well.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
