By July 3, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip
is
44,953+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (37,953), those who are still missing under the rubble (Corrected on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By May 25, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them.
By March 4, 2024, the Government Media Office (GMO) said that the Israeli occupation forces killed 493 health personnel and kidnapped 310 others of them (May 25, 2024), destroyed 155 health institutions, 32 hospitals, 53 health centers, 126 ambulances, displaced 1.9 million Palestinians, and destroyed 360,000 housing units, about and 60% of the buildings and infrastructure in Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Click here for more about using the apostrophe and the underlining of letters in the transliteration of Arabic names. *** Prominent 'Hizbullah leader killed in Israeli airstrike Wednesday 3-July-2024 BEIRUT, (PIC) An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Wednesday killed Abu Ni'ma Nasir, a prominent leader in the Lebanese 'Hizbullah party. In a joint statement, opens new tab, the 12 former government officials said the administration was violating U.S. laws through its support for Israel and finding loopholes to continue shipping weapons to its ally. Among the people who signed the joint statement were former members of the State Department, Education Department, Interior Department, White House and the military. The Israeli occupation forces' aggression against the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, which began on October 7, 2023, has so far killed more than 37,925 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and injured more than 87,141 others, in an infinite toll, as thousands of victims remain under the rubble. K.T. *** PGMO: Forced evacuation of the European Hospital deepens health crisis in Gaza Wednesday 3-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza said that “the Israeli enemy had committed a historical crime when it forced the evacuation of the European Hospital in Khan Younus.” It said in a statement on Tuesday evening that the forced evacuation of the European Hospital would threaten the lives of thousands of sick and wounded Palestinians. PGMO charged Israel with deliberately targeting hospitals and the health system in the Gaza Strip, and intentionally creating a humanitarian and health catastrophe in the besieged enclave. The Israeli occupation army has rendered 34 hospitals out of service in Gaza, the last of which was the European Hospital, the PGMO statement said, adding that “the whole world is watching and doing nothing to stop this genocide.” For its part, the World Health Organization said that the Israeli army forced the evacuation of 270 patients from the European Hospital, adding that only three patients are left in the hospital. *** 'Hamas: The Palestinian people the only ones to determine Gaza’s future Wednesday 3-July-2024 BEIRUT, (PIC) The Palestinian people are the only ones to determine the future of Gaza Strip and not the Israelis or the Americans, 'Hamas spokesperson Jihad Taha said in a press statement on Tuesday evening. He said that the US bias in favor of Israel was clear since day one of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, adding that the US administration should pressure Israel to end its aggression and abide by international resolutions in this regard. The US state department had issued a statement earlier Tuesday saying that it does not want 'Hamas to rule in the Gaza Strip after the end of the war. Taha, meanwhile, said that mediations were still ongoing to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal. The 'Hamas official said that the ball now is in Israel’s court and it should abide by the international resolutions and stop its aggression. *** In a collective punishment step, Israeli forces demolish family home of Palestinian detainee in Nablus NABLUS, Wednesday, July 3, 20234 (WAFA) - In a collective punishment step, the Israeli occupation forces demolished after midnight on Tuesday the family home of a Palestinian detainee in the village of Duma south of Nablus, whom Israel accuses of allegedly carrying out an attack that resulted in the killing of a colonist. Chairman of Duma Village Council, Suleiman Dawabsha, told WAFA that large Israeli military forces, reinforced by three military bulldozers, stormed the said village and cordoned off the two-storey family home of detainee, A'hmad Samer Dawabsha, before punitively demolishing it. Dawabsha was detained by the occupation from his home on April 22, after he allegedly killed a colonist. Israel resorts to punitively demolishing the family homes of any Palestinians – as a means of deterrence - accused of being involved in attacks against Israelis, a policy that Israel does not use against Israeli settlers who were involved in fatal attacks against Palestinians. Al-Haq human rights group slammed the punitive home demolition of Palestinians suspected of being involved in attacks against Israelis, as a collective punishment and that in accordance with humanitarian law and human rights law, it is assessed as a war crime and a crime against humanity. B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group, says: “The people who bear the brunt of the [punitive] demolitions are relatives – including women, the elderly, and children – whom Israel does not suspect of involvement in any offense.” It said that, “Since this constitutes deliberate harm to innocents, it is clear that even if house demolition had the desired deterrent effect, it would, nevertheless, remain unlawful.” Amnesty International, argued that the Israeli authorities’ claim that such demolitions are effective in dissuading potential attackers “is entirely irrelevant in the eyes of International humanitarian law, which places clear limits on the actions which an occupying power may take in the name of security, and the absolute prohibition on collective punishment is one of the most important of these rules.” “Collective punishment is never permissible under any circumstances.” T.R. *** UN experts condemn decades of unfair trials for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank NEW YORK, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 (WAFA) - Palestinians’ right to due process guarantees have been violated for 57 years, UN experts said today, denouncing the lack of fair trial in the occupied West Bank since June 1967. On 7 June 1967, the Israeli military commander issued three proclamations concerning the military’s executive, security, public order, and judicial authority in the occupied West Bank. These provisions were later amended into Military Order No. 378, which established military courts. “In the occupied West Bank, the functions of police, investigator, prosecutor, and judge are vested in the same hierarchical institution – the Israeli military,” the experts said. The Order establishes vague procedural instructions and broad powers to military forces for the conduct of proceedings. “This military system has served to control many aspects of Palestinians’ daily lives, including public health, education, and land and property law. It also criminalizes many forms of political and cultural expression, association, movement, nonviolent protest, traffic offenses, and other acts that might be considered methods for opposing the occupation and its policies,” the experts said. “This translates into a situation where military judges in military courts consistently provide legal and judicial cover for acts of torture, cruel and degrading treatment against Palestinian detainees carried out by their colleagues in the armed forces and intelligence agencies. It also makes legal defense impossible,” they said. Under international standards, guarantees of fair and public trial include the independence and impartiality of the courts and require that the judicial system is not dependent on the discretion of any branch of government, particularly the executive and armed forces. “The dual court system set up in the occupied West Bank, in violation of international law, has furthered legitimization of the occupation and illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, through a militarily enforced, draconian penal system that is only applied to Palestinians without due process guarantees,” the experts said. “We are especially disturbed that Palestinian children are subject to this abusive system.” “This system also turns a blind eye to settler violence and criminality, allowing it to grow and remain in impunity “Since the beginning of the occupation, the Israeli military has either taken part in or failed to protect Palestinians from violent settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, including, extrajudicial killings, forced displacement, property damage, destruction and unlawful appropriation, discrimination, harassment, and threats.” Public scrutiny of these proceedings and access to information about the harsh treatment of Palestinians in military courts and leniency towards illegal settlers is extremely limited given the media censorship exercised by the Israeli military, the experts said. Israeli military courts allow the military prosecutor to request a prohibition order against Palestinian detainees, preventing them from meeting with their lawyers for a total period of 60 days. This practice denies detainees the right to confer with legal counsel, especially during the interrogation process, the experts added. When part of a widespread or systematic attack is directed against a civilian population, severe deprivation of physical liberty can amount to a crime against humanity. The experts were concerned that an order posted by the Israeli military on its website on 29 May transferred responsibility for dozens of bylaws at the Civil Administration – the Israeli body governing the West Bank – from the military to pro-settler officials led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. The experts recall that annexation is absolutely prohibited under international law. “We call on Israel as the de facto occupying power, to repeal Military Order No. 378 and related laws and regulations, dissolve the military court, and ensure the right to a fair trial in the occupied West Bank,” the experts said. The experts have been in contact with Israel about these concerns, reported Reliefweb. The experts are Margaret Satterthwaite, Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, and Francesca Albanese, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.
