"Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. In a news conference, spokesman for the health ministry Ashraf al-Qidra said that the number of the wounded climbed to over 50,897 people. Spokesman Qidra added that the Israeli occupation army committed 18 massacres within the last 24 hours, while 179 martyrs and 303 wounded civilians were transported in the past hours to different hospitals. Large numbers of victims are still under the rubble or lying on roads, according to him. US-backed Israeli genocidal war on Gaza enters Day 69 Thursday 14-December-2023, GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered Day 69 on Thursday, massive aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and level whole blocks and homes and massacre more civilians, mostly children and women. The Israeli occupation army carried out hundreds of aerial and artillery attacks on different areas of Gaza last night and in the morning. The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter said that a number of wounded civilians, including a paramedic, were rushed to the Nasser Hospital after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried artillery attacks on the central areas of Khan Younus. He added that an Israeli army drone continued to open fire at shelter centers in Khan Younus refugee camp in order to terrorize and kill displaced citizens living inside them. Earlier, a medical source at the Kamal 'Adwan Hospital said that two wounded civilians succumbed to their injuries after doctors failed to save them as a result of the tight Israeli siege on the hospital. Spokesman for the health ministry Ashraf al-Qidra said that the Israeli forces inside the Kamal 'Adwan Hospital prevented doctors from providing medical care for 10 wounded citizens in the emergency department, which led to the death of two of them so far. Spokesman Qidra added that the soldiers forced the medical staff of the hospital to gather the wounded citizens and the children who need intensive care on the second floor of the facility, while depriving them of water, food, electricity and movement. The spokesman also said that 12 children under intensive care at the hospital are deprived of milk and could lose their lives as a result of the power blackout and the resultant failure to operate the life support devices they need for survival. The IOF had already kidnaped over 70 doctors and medical workers, including director of the Kamal 'Adwan Hospital A'hmed Al-Ka'hlout, from the facility. Later, the IOF also forced at gunpoint 2,500 displaced civilians to leave the hospital and go to shelter centers and started to force the medical staff to evacuate the wounded and patients, including children, and go to the Al-Shifa Hospital, which had already been bombed and besieged. In the morning, local sources in Gaza City said that a citizen called Talal Abdul-Salam and his wife and grandchildren were killed during an Israeli attack on their home. The IOF also carried out artillery attacks on several homes in Jabalya refugee camp, killing and wounding dozens of civilians. A spokesman for the civil defense authority in Gaza City said the Israeli army showered the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, al-Shuja’iya and Al-Daraj with projectiles, killing and injuring many citizens An Israeli aerial attack also destroyed a house in Al-Sahaba area of Al-Daraj neighborhood. 26 civilians were reportedly martyred when Israeli genocidal airstrikes targeted a house belonging to the family of Karira in the same neighborhood. A number of casualties were reported when the Israeli army bombed a neighborhood in Jabalya in northern Gaza. Dozens of civilians were also massacred during Israeli attacks on homes, schools and roads across the Gaza Strip. Death toll across Palestine surges to 18,884, over 55,000 wounded RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) – In the wake of the devastating Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the death toll has surged to at least 18,884, with over 55,000 individuals wounded, the Ministry of Health said in an update this evening. The Ministry said in a press statement that the documented number of casualties in the Gaza Strip has reached 18,600, while the death toll in the West Bank also surged to 286. In addition, the ministry said, 51,000 Palestinians have been injured in Gaza, and nearly 3,430 others in the West Bank. The ministry explained that the health sector in Gaza is facing a severe crisis, as dozens of healthcare centers have ceased operations due to continuous bombardment and fuel shortages. The Ministry of Health reported that over 60% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed, including more than 56,000 units completely destroyed and 224,000 units partially destroyed. The final count of destroyed units and buildings remains unavailable due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes. According to the statement, there has been a growing trend of Israeli occupation forces targeting hospitals, health centers, ambulances, and medical teams in the West Bank. “The occupation has escalated attacks on hospitals, besieging and raiding them, as well as assaulting ambulances and detaining the wounded.” Moreover, at least 143 Palestinian families, comprising 1,014 individuals, including 388 children, have been displaced amidst settler violence and access restrictions. In the West Bank, illegal Israeli settler attacks continued, it said, with 308 incidents recorded since the onset of the aggression on the Palestinian people on October 7th. These attacks have resulted in injuries and property damage owned by Palestinians. M.N. M.K. In Jineen, people are dying because they can’t reach hospitals - Doctors Without Borders JENIN, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) - As the Israeli military assault on the northern West Bank city of Jineen continues for the third day, people are dying because they cannot access hospitals, according to Doctors Without Borders. On Tuesday, a man carried his ill 13-year-old on foot to Khaleel Sulayman Hospital because Israeli armored cars blocked ambulances. His son died on arrival. Doctors Without Borders said the Israeli occupation forces tear-gassed the hospital claiming children were throwing stones at armored cars. People were treated for tear gas inhalation, including a medical worker. “Once again medical staff have been forced to treat their own colleagues,” it said on X. “One patient was discharged and an ambulance attempted to take her home. However, the ambulance was fired upon and the same patient has been re-admitted with a gunshot wound and is now undergoing surgery,” said Doctors Without Borders. “Attacks on hospitals and ambulances kill.” Jineen hospitals have been besieged by Israeli occupation army vehicles since the start of the assault on Tuesday and access to the hospitals as well as the movement of ambulances are closely inspected and usually obstructed. M.K. In its three-day assault on Jineen, the occupation forces destroy several homes in its refugee camp JENIN, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) - The Israeli occupation forces destroyed a house in Jineen refugee camp and detonated explosive devices inside two other houses as its assault on the northern West Bank city of Jenin continues for the third day. WAFA correspondent said the Israeli occupation army bombed the two-story house of a detainee after its residents were evacuated. He added that the occupation forces also detonated explosive devices inside the house of a Palestinian killed by the forces and the house of his uncle, while the widespread destruction of homes in the camp continued. The occupation forces bombed an abandoned house in the eastern neighborhood of the city of Jenin as they continued raids, searches, and arrest campaigns in Jenin and its camp for the third day in a row. M.K. Seven others were killed on the first day of the military incursion, some also by a drone missile attack. M.K. Two Palestinians killed, 10 others injured in Israeli drone attack against eastern neighborhood of Jineen city JENIN, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians were killed, including a minor, and several others were injured during an Israeli drone strike targeting the eastern neighborhood in Jenin city tonight, as the Israeli army continued its military offensive against the city and its camp since dawn on Tuesday. WAFA correspondent reported that at least two people were killed and 10 others were injured, including at least three seriously, in a drone strike that targeted a group of residents in the eastern neighborhood, raising the number of Palestinians killed during the ongoing Israeli offensive against Jenin to 10. The two were identified as A'hmed Jamal Abu Zaina, 27, and Bashar Haytham Abu Zaid, a minor. The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its crews were working to transfer the casualties to hospitals. The military forces also fired several “Energa” anti-tank missiles targeting a number of houses in the neighborhood. Forces further blew up a house in the Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin camp, setting it on fire. Resident Kifa'h Abu Surour told WAFA that the occupation forces surrounded his house and several other surrounding houses, and forced him, along with his wife and children to leave the house, before they targeted it with an “Energa” missile and a barrage of bullets, causing it severe damage. Forces fired over five missiles targeting the houses it besieged, after forcing their inhabitants to leave, and subjected them to interrogations. They also raided and searched several homes in the eastern neighborhood and tampered with their contents, which led to the outbreak of violent confrontations, during which the occupation soldiers fired bullets and tear gas canisters at residents and their homes. Sources reported the arrival of new Israeli military reinforcements to the city of Jineen and its camp. T.R. Minister of Health: The health situation in Jenin is very difficult in light of the Israeli military assault RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) - Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila said today that the health situation in the hospitals of Jenin Governorate is very difficult in light of the escalating Israeli military aggression against the governorate for the third day in a row. She said that Jenin Governorate hospitals are currently being subjected to a fierce attack by the Israeli occupation forces, who are besieging them, obstructing the arrival of the wounded, and searching and arresting staff working there. The Israeli occupation forces are also attacking ambulances, shooting at them, searching them, and obstructing their movement, she said. The Minister of Health said she was in contact with the Jenin hospitals to check on the health of the wounded and their medical needs, stressing that her ministry is doing all it can to provide the necessary medical supplies for all hospitals in the governorates despite the difficult conditions Palestine is experiencing as a result of the escalating Israeli aggression. Al-Kaila appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organizations to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their aggression against the Palestinian people, and against health and ambulance workers. Jenin Governorate is witnessing continuous aggression by the Israeli occupation forces for the third day in a row, which led to the death of 11 people and the injury of 34 others, including three in critical condition. According to prisoners' groups, the Israeli occupation forces abducted more than 4,400 Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the start of its aggression on Gaza on October 7. M.K. Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers
The Don't Buy Into Occupation coalition exposes European financial complicity in Israel's illegal settlements RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 14, 2023 (WAFA) - Updated research report reveals, for the 3rd year in a row, billions of US dollars worth of loans, underwriting ($164.2 billion), shares and bonds ($144.7 billion) of 776 European financial institutions in 51 companies are involved in grave violations of human rights and illegal activities according to international law, according to a report by the Don’t Buy Into Occupation (DBIO) coalition. The findings cover the period from January 2020 to August 2023. The report's publication comes at a time when Israel is perpetrating genocidal acts in the besieged and occupied Gaza Strip, killing over 18,000 Palestinians and forcibly displacing 1.9 million Palestinians. The intensity and ferocity of the indiscriminate military attacks have inflicted deliberate large-scale destruction to civilian infrastructure and wreaked an unfathomable humanitarian catastrophe in a revengeful attack. The attention of the international community on the unfolding genocide in Gaza has enabled the intensification of annexation, repression, collective punishment and settler violence in the occupied West Bank, said the report. For the past two months, the Israeli government has been facilitating the arming of Israeli settlers and civilians, and since the beginning of the military offensive alone, 265 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and armed settlers in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. In addition, more than 3,260 Palestinians including 200 children have been arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in violent nighttime raids, and Palestinian families have been entirely expelled from their villages due to settler terrorism. Within this backdrop, and since the publication of the 2nd DBIO report, the Israeli government together with private actors, continue to advance settlement and land theft unabated in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, further cementing its domination and apartheid regime over the occupied Palestinian people and its land colonization. The new report from the DBIO coalition reveals that hundreds of European financial institutions remain heavily invested in companies shoring up illegal Israeli residential, agricultural and industrial settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Company activities include settlement construction, service provision, demolition of homes, and surveillance. For years, the coalition has warned that business enterprises, that are directly or indirectly involved in the Israeli settlement enterprise, run a high risk of complicity in grave violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and crimes against humanity, and contributing to human rights violations. This includes financing, insuring, and trading with partners, suppliers, and subsidiaries that have ties with and proven links to the construction, expansion and maintenance of Israel’s illegal settlements. Such a risk is not limited to production and trade relationships but extends to financial institutions as well. Settlements continue to deny Palestinians a myriad of their human rights, including freedom of movement, liberty and security, an adequate standard of living, self-determination and sovereignty over natural resources. State-sponsored settler violence against Palestinian communities, involving killing, other forms of physical violence, and intimidation, torching of homes, fields and livestock, is alarmingly on the increase and has driven entire indigenous Palestinian communities to be forcibly expelled. “The ongoing terror and takeover by illegal settlers over the occupied West Bank, with the clear intention of the Israeli apartheid regime and settler organizations to erase and ethnically cleanse Palestinians from both Gaza and the West Bank can only stop if international companies and funding to the illegal settlement enterprise cease. European financial institutions have a big responsibility” said Inès Abdel Razek of Palestinian NGO, PIPD, a DBIO coalition member. The companies identified in the report still have a responsibility to use their leverage to prevent, mitigate, and address potential adverse impacts due to their involvement in violations and grave breaches of international human rights and humanitarian law that may amount to international crimes. The 51 companies identified include prominent names such as Airbnb, Carrefour, Cisco Systems, IBM, Puma, Siemens, and Volvo Group, all involved in activities raising human rights concerns, whereas some have already been listed in the UN database of businesses linked to Israeli settlements. “Financial institutions should conduct heightened human rights due diligence on all business relationships, especially those in occupied territory and conflict-affected areas, and accordingly, take action to end financial support for companies that are linked to unlawful actions or situations such as Israel’s illegal settlements. On the other hand, business enterprises should responsibly cease all activities and relationships with illegal settlements,” said Maha Abdallah, DBIO coordinator. Noteworthy among the findings are the top creditors providing $116.55 billion in loans and underwriting, led by BNP Paribas (France) with $22.19 billion, and the top investors contributing $66.36 billion in shareholdings and bond holdings, led by the Government Pension Fund Global (Norway) with $13.16 billion. “The failure to hold international corporations and financial institutions accountable for complicity in international crimes including those related to the settlements, is fueling the continuing and deteriorating situation on the ground, entrenching Israel’s illegal occupation, annexation and colonization of Palestine, maintained by war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide. This report puts companies on notice of their failures to carry out the required enhanced due diligence, and calls on those companies to divest and responsibility disengage from the occupied Palestinian territory,” said Susan Power of Palestinian NGO, Al-Haq, a DBIO coalition member. Don't Buy Into Occupation’s findings unveil how very few financial institutions are putting in place investment policies to align with human rights and international law, as well as policies that specifically include “involvement in the settlements in occupied territories” as an exclusion criterion. Even then, those remain insufficient and at times overlooked when conducting activities in practice. Particularly at a time when the failure to hold Israel accountable is facilitating a genocide, financial institutions and business must urgently end their involvement and operation, said the coalition.
