Farouq Al-Qaddoumi: Oslo Agreement Smeared the Palestinian Struggle

[ 17/09/2008 - 01:45 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

The head of the PLO's political department, Farouq Al-Qaddoumi, lashed out at the Oslo agreement, saying that it constituted a bad sign in the history of the Palestinian people and its struggle.

Oslo agreement smeared the Palestinian national struggle and depicted the Palestinian people as a minority living in an alien state, he elaborated in an interview with Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper published on Wednesday.

Qaddoumi, who is one of Fatah's prominent leaders and co-founders, regretted that the PLO was marginalized as the PA, which was the result of Oslo, was trying to replace the PLO.

He strongly castigated the Arab regimes for not extending enough assistance to the Palestinian people, and urged them to use the "oil weapon" in order to pressure the USA and Europe into backing the Palestinian people's aspirations.
