State of the Zionist Empire and its Crown Jewel Colony, One Year After the Election of Barack Obama By Hassan Ali El-Njajjar ccun.org & Al-Jazeerah, January 24, 2010
Today is the 8th Birthday of Al-Jazeerah. A salute to all of those who have contributed to its mission, particularly by writing to educate people about the dangers of the "Permanent War" policy. Their work will always be remembered and appreciated by people around the world, particularly the American people, as a wake up call to save the United States and the world from destruction, as a result of subordination to the global rulers of the Zionist Empire. One year ago, Barack Hussein Obama (whose middle name is also written as Hussain, as it is pronounced correctly in Arabic), was elected as the 44th President of the United States. This was a jubilant event, for which people around the world celebrated with great joy and hope that CHANGE was happening in America. They hoped for an end of the "Permanent War" policy, which caused death and destruction around the world, eroded civil liberties, and looted the treasuries of many nations, particularly the United States, for military and security spending. A year later, people are still waiting to see any change in any policies of the US government, foreign or domestic. There has almost been no change except on the rhetorical side. Domestically speaking, the looting of the future generations of Americans has continued. While Bush added about $4.3 trillion to the US national debt in eight years, Obama added a trillion dollars in the first month of his administration to bail out banks, under threat of a total financial collapse if the government does not do so. His military budget is the highest ever in American history. Even health care reform, which is badly needed for about 50 million Americans, has been compromised several times by members of Congress to please their master donors in the health care industry. The Bush era Patriotic Act, which turned the US into a police state, has been renewed under the rule of Democrats who have control over the Congress and the White House. The Israeli occupation government has been shielded by the Obama administration from any pressure or accountability in the UN for the Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza, in January 2009. Moreover, the Obama administration did not do anything to pressure the Israeli occupation government to stop its theft of Palestinian lands in the West Bank, referred to in the corporate media as settlement activities. The Obama administration has continued following the same Israeli policy, which was followed during the Bush administration, of imposing a brutal siege and an embargo on Gaza Strip. US aid to the Israeli occupation government finance its policies of the siege, illegal settlement activities, and military occupation. In addition, the Obama adminstration has helped the Israeli occupation government tighten the siege by backing the Egyptian government in building a steel fence on the border with Gaza. The Obama administration followed the (Bush-Patraeus) Surge policy in Iraq, which aimed at co-opting the Iraqi resistance by recruiting the former Iraqi soldiers, leading actually to ending the Iraqi resistance to the US forces there. However, it escalated the US war in Afghanistan and extended it to Pakistan. The Obama administration has adopted the same Bush administration tough stance against Iran, in an attempt to guarantee the continuation of the Israeli nuclear hegemony in the Middle East. It's hard to see any changes in the policies of the US government domestically or in foreign affairs, which compels the observation that policies of the US government are not decided by Democrat or Republican administrations. The state of the Zionist Empire is STRONG, through depleting the resources of its Crown Jewel Colony,* the United States! That is what has been happening during the first year of the Obama administration! Are we going to see wars stopped in Afghanistan and Pakistan later in his presidency? Is he going to confront the Israeli occupation government and have a US policy independent from Israel? Is he going to work for the American working class and middle class in the following three years, as Bush worked for the capitalist class? I don't know. But I know for sure that peace activists and patriotic Americans should wake up and resume their struggle. *** I can't help but share with readers what I wrote four years ago about the state of the Zionist Empire. My observations and my vision to avoid the coming disasters to its "Crown Jewel Colony," * the United State, still stand, as I expressed them then. State of the Zionist Empire Three Years After the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq So, what's the state of the Zionist Empire, right now? The state of the Zionist Empire is bad and its crown jewel, the United States, is on the verge of financial collapse. The rulers of the Empire are more like Cold War dinosaur warriors than 21st century statesmen who care about their people and the world they are living in. What's the solution? The solution is the immediate US withdrawal from Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Arabian Peninsula, as a first step to be followed by closing all US military bases abroad. The US government should correct its invasion mistake by going back to the UN asking for international forces to replace US forces over there. The longer the US forces stay in Iraq, the longer the Civil War, the harder the suffering of the Iraqi people, and the more American casualties. More important is that the Israeli occupation government has to be bluntly told by the United States government that it has to withdraw from the Arab occupied territories (Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese territories). It has to go back to the 1967 borders. The Israeli state should adopt a constitution that defines its citizens and its borders. Moreover, it has to give up its nuclear arsenal and live peacefully with its neighbors. Israelis have to relinquish their dream of a greater Israel that extends from the Nile to the Euphrates, which is causing all this trouble the world over. Peace can be achieved by the Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian territories and the Israeli recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people. The Zionist Empire is harming everybody in the Middle East. It hasn't brought peace to the Israelis and their neighbors. Where do we go from here? The American republic is in real danger unless the American people wake up and take action. The only hope is voting for candidates who put America first before the Empire. People should vote for politicians who pledge to put America first and pledge to stop supporting wars against the world. Candidates running for Congress, whether Republicans or Democrats, should pledge to do that. Otherwise, they should be voted out of office. More important is that the third parties should get together in an umbrella organization or coalition that pledges to put America first and that opposes military adventures overseas. We need to bring home as soon as possible not only our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan but also from Germany, Japan, and everywhere. We don't need 700 military bases in 156 countries. This is draining our financial, economic, and human resources and making us the enemy of so many nations. We need to correct our course as soon as possible before it is too late. We still remember the collapse of the Soviet Union and the breaking away of its republics. We still remember the humiliation the Russians felt when they couldn't even bring home their troops from east Germany because they didn't have the resource to do so. Let's end the Empire and keep the United States, before it's too late and we lose both. Let's stop our politicians' humiliating loyalty to Israel. Let's stop all aid to the Israeli occupation government until it withdraws from the Palestinian occupied territories and leave the Palestinian people alone. Let's put America first, before the Zionist Empire. ------------ * The term originally referred to India, which was described as the British Empire "Crown Jewel Colony," whose human and natural resource were depleted by the British rulers of that Empire.
