The US-Led-West Versus Iran:

What will Be the Score?

By Ali Al-Hail

ccun.org, October 9, 2009

If the US-led-old Western colonizers keep holding the 'alleged' nuclear card against Iran, they would expectedly, lose more than would they gain. Iran would attract even more support in the Middle East and World – Wide.

This Iran phobia is already seen by many as selective, biased, and double standard. Had the US-led- West questioned the Israeli infamously, long time renowned nuclear and WMD capability, this confrontation with Iran by now, would've not perceived so.

For 'Israel' to remain the sole, solemn, and only, nuclear power in the Middle East,   with any cost and with an approval from these same anti – Iran powers, raises many questions. For instance, it blatantly, manifests the participation of these same powers  in massacring the Palestinians. And in being too soft with 'Israeli' relentless habits to disobey the "International Community" as regard to complying with UN's resolutions, the QUARTET Road Map, and Obama's recent call on 'Israel' to freeze illegal land-grabbed settlements.

One presumes, as do many that, hammering Iran over nuclear allegations, is a way of escapism by US-led-Western powers for not being able to rein Israel in. As such it seems to aim at diverting the attention from Israel's firm stand on rejecting the freezing on the settlements.

Many argue that, Iran possesses potentially, strategic regional cards that, it can hold against these pro-'Israel' powers, if it wishes to do so. Primarily, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Arab Gulf region (GCC states). Iran is capable to hurt the US-led-NATO in Iraq, Afghanistan, and in the GCC countries. Also, in Pakistan, and in the Caspian sea, can Iran make life uneasy to the US-Led-Western powers.
