Is Obama's Administration Genuine About Peace in the Middle East?

By Ali Al-Hail

ccun.org, June 9, 2009

Surely, the U.S. Congressional delegation who made a visit to 'Israel' last week, assured the right-wing Zionist government of the United States' ever continuous position towards 'Israel', as the most invaluable strategic ally. This assurance came after perceivably, the strongest ever worded warning Secretary Of State, Hilary Clinton, delivered to Israel on its land-grab settlements.

Assuredly, the Zionist lobby-incited-U.S. Congressional convoy calmed the land-grabbers' worries about the newly, publicly, declared U.S. shift in policy 'agenda' from the long-standing 'usual norm'. So, the Congress persons apparently, said to the land-grabbers – don't take notice of what Obama and his Secretary Of State demand from you in public. It's barely, for international consumption!

Everybody with basic knowledge on Middle East politics, is fully, aware of the premise that, ' Israel ' is red line to U.S. politics and it will always be above the law. After 43 years of land grabbing and building illegal settlements on lands grabbed during the 1967 war from its legitimate and legal owners i.e., the Palestinians, this current extremist Zionist government of hatred, bitterness and fascism (watch Avigdor Lieberman's mouth) won't (as preceded Zionist governments didn't) accept abandoning their anti QUARTET-2003-road Map-Plan - settlements built since 1967 illegally, on land-grabbed in West Bank and East Jerusalem, let alone 'natural growth' settlements.

As a result, one presumes, as do many that current U.S. administration is not really, sincere in calling on ' Israel ' to stop expanding all sorts of land-grabbed settlements (albeit, in public, it might appear so). Many argue that, the U.S. administration would stay for the next four years keeping ' Israel ' and its Middle East 's counterparts in 'a peace process'. BUT  not actually, to make peace, unless Arabs give in to all Israeli demands i.e., peace and land.

Simply, because ' Israel ' as ever, wants both together – land and peace.. NOT  peace for land.. According to UN long-aging resolutions upon which the Arab peace initiative is based, ' Israel ' has (if it wishes to have a peace deal with Arabs) to withdraw from Arab, including Palestinian lands it had illegally, seized during the 1967 war.

The latter means ' Israel ' will have to withdraw from all West Bank, all East Jerusalem and All Gaza Strip. Additionally, ' Israel ' will have to withdraw from the Syrian Golan Heights and Lebanese Hills of Kafr Shouba and Shab'a Farms. One would truly, have been surprised had ' Israel ' agreed to U.S. administration to do so. It, knowing ' Israel ' well, will be almost impossible. Therefore; the Hizbullah \ Hamas – led resistance option would win the support of major Arab Street . As, Arab lands grabbed by ' Israel ' could be regained solely, through only, this option, Arabs would be left with.
