America's Wars and the Financial Collapse

By Mohammed Khaku

ccun.org, October 4, 2008

In the land of plenty, the financial markets are in full panic, Wall Street about to collapse, credit are frozen, money market and 401 funds are losing money. This is the most severe economic situation our nation's been in since World War II. The undecided majority of Independent and Republican voters are baffled, which way do I go Republican or Democrat?

The last eight years of Republican administration has become bigger and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has created the largest national debt ever in the history. Other nations around the world are balancing their budget and building surplus reserves to ensure financial security, Republican administration has burdened us with immense debt and polarized the nation with US V. THEM, Republican against Republican, Democrats against Democrats and Republican against Democrats. Sen. Obama is the person who would transcend this refit and division.

Our liberties are trampled, wire taping and violation of Geneva Convention that we pioneered are the norm this administration. Our reckless war mongering is not war on terrorism, but a terrorizing war that has generate more enemies around the world. Look at our UN resolutions record we stand unapproachable, we have become oppressor and isolated among the community of nations.

Republican party approval rating is in shambles and needs an attitude change. The Republican Party has become fascinated with power, and began putting politics over policy. Indeed, the republican have become egotistical, believing that America is our to rule without any questions asked and anyone who questions “our policies”, are to be label as un-patriotic.

November 4th 2008 is an important day in our history, the day democracy will re-stored, unilateralism, arrogance, double standard and hypocrisy will end.  The history will be made. The election of a black US president in the White House after more than 220 years as a nation is a very sensitive issue and indeed is a radical ideal, but Sen. Barrack Obama represent a radical “change and hope” in America and worldwide. Sen. Obama’s unique background and unmatched resume gives him a distinctive outlook to the world. Sen. Obama’s administration is capable of changing world’s perception after eight years of the Bush administration. Senator Obama has the vision of peace and justice in the U.S foreign policy. Sen. Obama has shown great perseverance and resilience during the sixteen months democratic primaries.

Do we need to continue to put America on peril with wars, wars and wars? John McCain say bomb, bomb and bomb Iran, cannot think beyond 9/11 and will put neo-con puppets on Supreme Court who can annul Roe V. Wade. Dictators like Chavez and Castro can do that, not our president.  American voters see new reason for hope in the political approach of Sen. Obama and his advisers. Sen. Obama is the only choice that makes sense at this time. We can’t afford another four years of Bush’s presidency under McCain. Of course Sen. Obama might not be able to achieve peace in Palestine, but there is hope that there won’t be another war based on lies and deception.
