What's Happening in Gaza is Israeli Holocaust Inflicted on the Palestinian People, Says Khaled Misha'al

Mishaal: What is happening in Gaza is a Holocaust

DAMASCUS, (PIC)--

Senior Hamas political leader and head of its political bureau, Khaled Misha'al, has unequivocally accused on Saturday the Israeli occupation government of committing a new Holocaust in the Gaza Strip against 1.5 million individuals there.

"The Zionist entity has been committing a Holocaust against the Palestinian citizens since 60 years, and what is now happening in Gaza at the hands of the IOF troops is indeed a new Holocaust", Misha'al stressed in a press conference he held I the Syrian capital Damascus.

He also accused PA chief Mahmoud Abbas of providing the political cover for the new Holocaust in Gaza by alleging that the Qaeda militant group has a foothold in the Gaza Strip in addition to his "unwarranted" remarks on the home-made Palestinian resistance rockets.

Addressing the world's conscience, Misha'al underlined, "The Palestinian people is the victim, and Israel is the aggressor and whoever keeps a passive stand vis-à-vis the IOF massacres in Gaza is a partner in the carnage".

He added that it was a shame on European and western countries to relieve their guilty conscience for what the Nazis did to the Jews by allowing the Israelis to commit a new Holocaust against the Palestinian people.

Misha'al stressed "this war was imposed on us and we have no choice but to defend ourselves, our children, and honor".

Misha'al then went on to send a message to Israeli leaders saying: "If you chose to invade Gaza, then the 1.5 million Palestinian citizens there will fight you the lion fight although their weapons are simple and primitive."

"You are living a historic moment in which you exploit the US support and the Arab weakness; but this situation won't last long as the umbilical cord that connects you to America will not last and the Arab feebleness won't last either", Misha'al underlined as he addressed the Israelis.

Misha'al also said that even if the Zionists destroyed the Palestinian Authority in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, they will not succeed in breaking the determination of the Palestinian people to struggle for their freedom.

He also expressed hopes that the bloodbath in Gaza would spur those against restoring Palestinian national unity to rethink their position and to sit with Hamas for the good of the Palestinian people, underscoring that his Movement was and still is amenable to an unconditional inter-Palestinian national dialogue.

Moreover, Misha'al asserted that the Palestinian resistance homemade rockets were only for self-defense purposes and that they were fired at Israeli colonies in retaliation to the relentless IOF aggressions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

"We have said to the Arab and European officials that we are ready to stop the missiles if they could grant us an Israeli commitment to halt the atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank. The problem isn't with us Palestinians but it is with the Israelis", Misha'al furthermore emphasized.

Moreover, Misha'al explained "We want freedom… we want self determination… and we want our land and usurped legal rights… we prefer to get them back peacefully, but if the world failed to help us in retrieving our legal rights then we have every right to resist the occupation with all possible means".

He also urged the Palestinian people wherever they are along with other Palestinian resistance factions to consolidate ranks and never abandon their national constants.
