The Dubious Decider

By Paul Balles

ccun.org, Jan 10, 2008

George Bush is coming to the Bahrain in January.

MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann called Bush a "pathological presidential liar, or an idiot-in-chief," and denounced Bush, without reservation: "You, Mr Bush, are a bald-faced liar," said Olbermann, providing the evidence to prove it.

Who doesn't know, for example, that Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq ?  The question that hasn't been answered adequately is why?

Why did Bush lie about Saddam's presumed arsenal of WMDs?

Answer:  to serve Israel .

As long as Saddam had the potential for developing WMDs, Israel claimed a potential risk.  However, Israel would never be at risk so long as Palestinians lived in the land occupied by Israel . Why not?  Saddam would never have used WMDs on Palestinians.

What, then, was the threat to Israel ?  So long as Saddam had a “potential” for destructive weapons, Israel could not eliminate the Palestinians.

Israel 's ultimate goal is to empty Gaza and the West Bank of all Palestinians, through an ethnic cleansing, forcing them to join the millions of Palestinian refugees.

Some of the hundreds of additional lies uttered by the world's most pathological liar include:

Continued lies about a non-existent connection between Iraq and al-Qaeda.

Lies about finding terrorists and bringing them to justice, when in fact the government has captured, imprisoned without trial and tortured hundreds of innocents.

Bush has lied about government sanctioning of illegal wiretapping saying the government needed to move quickly, without warrants, to detect terrorist plots.

The liar-in-chief lied about a non-existent connection between Iraq and the attacks on 9/11.

Despite translators in Washington who know Farsi, who must have told GWB the truth about Ahmadinejad’s comment about Israel , Bush continues the lie. Stefan Simanowitz explained it clearly:

The claim that Iran has threatened “to wipe Israel off the face of the map” has been repeated so often that it has almost become received wisdom. However the much mistranslated Farsi phrase used by President Amadinejad was “Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad.” This translates directly as “The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time. This statement is very wise”. Whatever the interpretation of this translation, “a regime vanishing from the page of time” is very different from a threat to wipe a nation off the map.

America 's decider lied to get America to bomb, invade and occupy Iraq . He has been doing the same thing to prepare America to exercise military might to bring Iran its knees for the sake of Israel .

What lies will GWB tell when he visits the Arabian Gulf States in January?

Will he lie about his visit to Israel and assure leaders in the Gulf that Israel is ready to make peace with the Palestinians if only the Gulf States recognize and do business with Israel ?

Will he continue the lie about Iran 's danger to the region, knowing full that-- unlike America and Israel -- Iran has never peremptorily attacked any country?

Will he lie about the benefits the US can offer to the Gulf States if they cooperate in supporting further sanctions and possible military action against Iran ?

Will he lie about the need the Gulf States have for defensive weaponry in order to siphon off some of the oil revenue profits for the US military-industrial complex?

Will he lie about the dangers of currency pegs to any other than the almighty dollar?

The dubious decider certainly isn't coming to the Gulf to exchange greetings or shop in the suqs.
