Iraqi Intellectuals Reject Partition of their Country By Wafaa' Al-Natheema ccu.org, October 7, 2007
IRAQ WILL NOT BE DIVIDED We, Iraqis, have invented the wheel, the alphabet and the law, we began lavish construction of hospitals and libraries, and have made endless scientific discoveries and inventions through the millenniums. In modern history, our country has been filled with scientists who have been so gifted, challenging and accomplished, our enemies has been targeting and killing them. So we are pretty capable of preventing the conspiracy bestowed upon us, which is to control our resources and divide our country. Collectively, we refuse intimidation and occupation and so we are willing, able and ready to prevent IRAQ from being divided. Let us read this as a reminder and act upon it. We, Arabs, Kurds, Turkmans and other ethnic groups must work together and not allow the division of IRAQ to take place, ever. PLEASE read the statement below in Arabic, which is written by a group of educated IRAQIS and sign it by including your full name and position. Type your name and position in the comment section below and eventually all names will be collected and typed below the statement and delivered to the media, politicians and those who have a say. PLEASE do whatever it takes not to allow the division of IRAQ to take place. Let us teach the world that just because we have been invaded by the most powerful army in the world (that of the USA), which is being supported by a coalition from 30 different countries (worldwide), by the Iran-Israel collaborative and by mercenaries, it does not mean WE, IRAQIS, will let go of our country and allow it to be divided. WE will not allow it to happen. IRAQ will not be divided. The Arabic statement of Iraqi intellectuals can be found at: http://zennobia.blogspot.com/2007/10/iraq-will-not-be-divided.html |
