June 9-11, 2007 saw an inspiring array of events around the world. Our local group from CT included a bus and several car pools. We enjoyed the companionship and sharing of the trip. Thanks to all who traveled and all who donated. In difficult times in the history of the world we have seen people tested and their metal showing. While some feel weak at the knees, buckle under pressure, or even collaborate with empires, there are so many who rise up to the challenge and prove indeed that, as Arundhati Roy, said "Not only is another world possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing." Or as Dale Carnegie noted "Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." (the two quotes were from a friend and a reader of these emails). Now let us collectively follow-up with letters to politicians and the media and plan bigger events and serious actions for the Nakba commemorations (2008 will mark 60 years of colonization of Palestine and concurrent forced displacement of native Palestinians). Time to bring justice which will bring lasting peace.
