Hundreds of families need urgent shelter assistance. Heavy rains demolish homes and tents of displaced people in Marib

May 20, 2019, ALMASDARONLINE ٢٠ ãÇíæ ٢٠١٩

Dozens of tents were damaged in camps for displaced people in the vicinity of Marib city, due to heavy rains and floods in the province on Saturday evening.

Local sources said that 43 mud houses in the al-Jufainah camp were completely damaged, and 150 houses were partially affected in the Al- Jufainah camp, south of Marib, the capital city of the province.

Approximately 3,200 families live in the camp, with 13,000 displaced persons from the governorates of Mahwit, al-Jawf, Hajjah, Sana'a, Amran and Dhamar.

Sources told Al-Masdar online that around 360 mud houses were threatened with falling on the heads of their inhabitants, as a result of torrential rains, rain in the province and lack of rainwater and sewage drainage services.

The sources indicated that hundreds of affected families needed emergency shelter assistance to save their lives, in addition to creating a new road for the camp, after the floods destroyed the current road.

The sources explained that most of the tents of the displaced were affected by the water of the floods, and their tents, mattresses and blankets were damaged, where most of the camp covered by mud.

On Saturday, Marib and torrential rains flooded most of the streets of the province, destroying some dirt roads that cut off transport in some streets in the city's eastern neighbourhoods.

Yemen Faces War of Another Kind!

May 20, 2019, YemenExtra, SH.A.

US-Saudi coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched its aggression against Yemen four years ago with direct American support to impose its dictates on the unarmed people of Yemen. The aggression was not limited to the military side, but extended to the aspects of people’s life and the economic sector as well. The forces of aggression are used to bomb Yemeni cities and governorates with the most sophisticated Western weapons in a desperate attempt to change the balance of power in Yemen in favor of its pro-aggression government, headed by AbduRabbo Hadi.

More than ten thousand Yemeni people, women, children and the elderly have been killed in the attacks. Dozens of thousands have been wounded in the bloody and fierce war waged by the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen.

The aggression not only committed many crimes and caused tragedies but resorted to an economic war along with its military aggression. Since the first moment of the aggression on Yemen, the siege of the Yemeni People, the closure of all ports, and corridors of land sea and air and systematic targeting of economic infrastructure of factories, companies and laboratories. By closing ports and corridors, Saudi Arabia wanted to deprive the Yemeni People of billions of riyals of tax and customs revenues. Aggression forces also attacked grain silos, food stores, markets, commercial complexes, power plants, fuel, poultry farms and food stock.

By this suffocating siege and the destruction of infrastructure, most of the Yemeni economic establishments went outside the production process, which cost the Yemeni economy huge losses and created social crises characterized by unemployment and poverty.

The forces of aggression also targeted the Central Bank of Yemen, where it was transferred from Sanaa to Aden in an illegal move. These forces also printed trillions of the Yemeni currency continuously without monetary cover, which was clearly reflected in the insane rise in the prices of basic foodstuffs, medicines and oil derivatives in an effort to deepen The tragedy of the Yemeni people at the peak of life, and pressure the economic paper to accept any solutions unfair and humiliating.

Contemplating what is woven from conspiracies and schemes to humiliate the people of Yemen and its stagnation, it undoubtedly includes the seriousness of that. It is certain that the main reason for the deterioration of the Yemeni economy, the collapse of the exchange rate and the rise in prices is due mainly to the economic war waged by the forces of aggression and its mercenaries.

Yemen’s Higher Economic Committee said it was considering “all options” to respond to the continued escalation in the economic war imposed on the Yemeni People by the US-Saudi aggression.

In addition to the military and economic aggression against Yemen, the Yemeni people stressed the need to target the economic interests of the countries of aggression in response to the destruction of infrastructure and the Yemeni economy.

For four years now, the Yemeni People have been steadfast in the worst military and economic aggression against one of the poorest countries in the world under the international silence and western slowdown. The aggression forces have not been able to break the will of this people despite the suffocating siege and the crimes they commit against it.

In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

However, Saudi Arabia relies heavily on the US in its brutal war on Yemen. Washington has deployed a commando force on the Arab kingdom’s border with Yemen to help destroy arms belonging to Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement. Washington has also provided logistical support and aerial refueling.

Yemeni drones launch retaliatory raids against vital Saudi facilities,Saudi Arabia confirms it

On May 14, 2019, YemenExtra, Y.A

Seven drones run by Yemeni army forces reportedly carried out attacks against vital Saudi facilities in response to the Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US, regime’s ongoing acts of criminal practices against Yemeni people.

A Yemeni military source told al-Masirah TV on Tuesday that the extensive military operation was conducted in retaliation for the coalition’s deadly military war and the siege of the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state.

“We are ready to carry out more qualitative and cruel strikes in the event of continued aggression and unjust siege,” the official added.

The source did not, however, specify the targets or the time of the strikes.

The Saudi Minister of Energy Khalid al-Falih has reportedly announced that two Saudi pipeline booster stations were affected in the strike, and stated that authorities have halted all pumping on a major east-west oil pipeline.
