Four killed in clashes south of Libya

A security source from Taragin town south of Libya confirmed the killing of four of Khalid Ibn al-Walid armed group of Dignity Operation, after clashing with ISIS militants in the agricultural districts.

The source pointed out that the fighters of the so-called 10th and Khalid Ibn al-Walid battalions have taken control of the entire area of the agricultural districts in the area of Ghadwa, after defeating ISIS militias.

In the same context, the Director of Medical Affairs at the Taragin Hospital, Saleh Mayouf confirmed that at least three people were killed and three others wounded in Tuesday's clashes that took place in the agricultural districts south of the city.

Interior Ministry's statements on Foreign Ministry's attackers criticised by NGOs

Forty-five Libyan non-governmental organizations, including Solidarity for Human Rights, condemned statements made by the Interior Minister Fathi Pashaga, in which he described the perpetrators of the Foreign Ministry's attack of being "dark-skinned."

The organizations considered in a joint statement on Friday that the statements of Pashaghaga is contrary to the international obligations ratified by Libya, which prohibits racial discrimination between people, demanding him to apologize for these racists comments.

The organizations warned against such a discourse in the multi-ethnic Libyan society.

“As terrorism has no religion, it also has no colour, no race or sex,” the statement stressed.

The UN Security Council condemned the terrorist attack on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli last Tuesday, demanding the support of the Presidential Council to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In a statement, the members of the Security Council expressed their condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Libyan people and the Presidential Council, calling on all States to cooperate actively with the Presidential Council and all the Libyan authorities in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions to combat the threat of terrorism.

“The members reaffirmed the need for all States to combat by all means, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law, including international human rights law, international refugee law and international humanitarian law, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts,” the statement stressed.

One killed, 13 wounded in Chadian mercenaries’ attack on Haftar’s forces south Libya

13 fighters were injured and an officer named Khalid Masoud was killed as a group of armed mercenaries believed to be Chadian rebels attacked Thursday dawn the position of 10th Brigade of Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army in Taraghin, southern Libya.

Sources from the 10th Brigade said the attack was carried out using armored vehicles similar to those used by Haftar’s forces as a kind of camouflage.

“The injured were sent to Taraghin Hospital. Two of them were placed in the intensive care unit.” The sources added. The mayor of Taraghin Abdelsalam Shangla confirmed that the attack took place and said the attackers were Chadian mercenaries.

The head of the hospital in Taraghin also said that they had received 12 injuries and one death due to the attack, saying one of the wounded is the deputy commander of the 10th Brigade Jumua Thabet, whose injury is serious, denying that he was kidnapped by the mercenaries.

ISIS claims attack on Libya's Foreign Ministry

ISIS claimed Wednesday the attack on the Libyan Foreign Ministry which killed on Tuesday three people and injured 21 others in Tripoli.

A social media post published a statement by ISIS praising the three terrorists whom it said were "immersive members" with explosive belts and machine guns and carried out the attack killing and injuring "31 renegades from security and foreign ministry personnel."

"The members controlled the building in hours and then they burnt it in full," the statement reads.

The statement added that ISIS will continue its war on those who defeated them in Sirte, where it said the battle is still ongoing and will expand to other cities which fought Sharia.

The attack on the Libyan Foreign Ministry took place Tuesday morning and the three attackers were killed - two gunned down and the third exploded himself.
