Iranian military official says his country to establish naval base in Yemen

The Chief of Staff of the Iranian army said on Saturday that Iran has ambitions to build up a naval military base in Yemen or in Syria, where the Shiite state has influence in these two countries.
 
According to the Iranian news agency Fares, the Major General Mohammad Bagheri said, in a speech delivered at a forum of the Iranian Navy regions commanders, that "we need a fleet in the Indian Ocean as is the case with Oman Sea, in order to have a presence in the far seas and tackle piracy."
" We may one day have a naval base on the coasts of Yemen or Syria, or establish floating or on-islands bases," the General added.

It is worth that Iran has military ambitions in the Arabian Peninsula, and this is not the first time a high-ranking Iranian military official discloses Iran's intention to intervene in Yemen's crisis, not to mention the obvious Iranian support for the Houthis. 

President Hadi and government officials return to Aden

A presidential source said on Saturday that the Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, accompanied by other government officials, was on the way to Aden city, Yemen interim capital, southern Yemen.
 
The President Hadi's travel to Aden came hours before the arrival of the UN Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh to Riyadh to discuss the political settlement, and try to convince the conflict parties to agree to the roadmap that was put forward earlier.
 
It is noteworthy that President Hadi along with other officials in the presidency and the government have been residing in their temporary camp in Saudi capital Riyadh since Hadi's departure from Yemen mid last year, after the Houthi group has seized control over capital Sana'a and their attack on Aden city.

Ould Cheikh calls on Yemeni parties to "deal with the currently available"

The UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh, called on the Yemeni parties to "deal with currently available", after the political solution failure indicators have increased, especially after the failure of the repeated calls for a cease-fire.
 
After meetings held in the Omani capital Muscat, Ould Cheick said that he agreed with the Houthi rebels and former President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the activation of the De-escalation and Coordination Committee to support the cease-fire.
 
He added that the Yemeni government has prepared a reply concerning the roadmap. The UN official, who is heading Sunday to the Saudi capital Riyadh, pointed out that he will have meetings in Riyadh and Kuwait to discuss holding a new round of talks, which, he said, should not exceed ten days to reach a final agreement.
 
The UN envoy stressed that "the United Nations support a real cease-fire in Yemen because a 48 hours truce is not enough."
According to Ould Cheikh also, the USA is paying a special attention to Yemen.

Taiz: Two women killed by Houthis

He killed two women and wounded another civilian, Saturday, sniper fire and rocket-Huthi militants group and forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, west of the city of Taiz, East As Silw District south of the province.

He said human rights source told «Online Source», said Samra, Mohammed Ali al-Izzi, 65, was killed, and wounded her husband Ali Abdullah Kassim, 70, and Bilal Abdullah Ali 10 years due to a shell landed on their house in Casablanca neighborhood at Beir Basha west of Taiz.
 
He pointed out that the shell sourced Houthi positions north of the city. And continuing heavy fighting between government forces and rebels east of the city, said sources in the field that the two militants were killed Huthi, in calling for neighborhood parties.

Spokesman: government forces special mission kill Houthis in Dhali'

A military spokesman in Murais area north of Dhali' governorate, southern Yemen, said on Saturday that special units of al Sadrin Military Camp of the government forces have attacked Houthi locations killing some elements and injuring others.
 
The spokesman of al Sadrin Military Camp stated to Almasdaronline that government forces troops have waged a quick operation and attacked a checkpoint for the Houthi and pro-Houthi militants in the area, and then returned to their locations.
 
The spokesman added that this swift mission has resulted in deaths and injuries from the Houthis, as well as destroying a military vehicle.
 
The spokesman pointed out that this attack comes in response to the assassination attempt carried out two days before against the camp commander, Brigadier Abdullah Muzahim, when he was targeted in a bomb explosion on the way to the camp, but no casualties were reported in the explosion.

Coalition air defenses intercept Houthi ballistic missile launched toward Khamis Mushayt Saudi city

The air defense systems of the Saudi-led Arab coalition intercepted on Saturday evening a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi militants and Saleh forces and shot it down in the Saudi borders airspace.
 
Saudi media reported that the Saudi anti-missiles systems intercepted the ballistic missile while it was heading towards Khamis Mushayt city, south of KSA and near the Yemeni borders.
 
The Saudi media added that the missile was shot down without causing any damage, while the fighters bombed the base used to launch the missile, without referring to a specific area.
 
It is worthy that the Houthis are frequently launching heavy artillery and rocket shelling targeting Saudi cities, and casualties are usually reported in this bombing.
However, the long-range missiles are usually shot down by the Saudi forces air defense systems.

Four Saudi soldiers and 20 Houthi rebels killed in fighting across Yemen-Saudi borders

Four Saudi soldiers and about 20 members of the Houthis rebels and Saleh forces were killed on Saturday, November 26, in fierce confrontations between the two sides in the Jazan Al Khubah sector on the Yemeni-Saudi borders.
 
Saudi forces stated that they have fended off an attempt for the Houthi militias to advance in Al Khubah sector and destroyed vehicles, landmines, RPGs and light weapons, and also killed about 20 members of the coup elements.
 
Earlier on Friday, the joint Saudi forces repelled a Houthi attack on border control centers in Almsial, Al Majazeh, and Albah areas in Southern Dhahran area.
 
Al Arabia TV channel quoted its reporters as saying that four members of the joint Saudi troops were killed while repelling the attack.
In a similar context, the Coalition forces said it intercepted on Saturday evening a ballistic missile launched by Houthis towards Khamis Mushayt governorate, south of Saudi Arabia.

Government forces: 50 Houthi militants, including commanders, killed in fierce battles in Haradh and Midi

The government forces in the 5th Military Region has announced that 34 elements, including field commanders, of Houthi and Saleh forces were killed in Midi and Haradh cities of Hajjah governorate, north western Yemen during the past hours.
 
The Fifth Military Region Media Center of the government forces posted on Facebook that 22 Houthi militants were killed and 17 others injured by the artillery shelling of the Arab coalition forces and the government army northeast Midi city.
 
The center added that other Houthi rebels were killed in fighting with the government forces.
The media centre pointed out that the government forces artillery has destroyed a military vehicle for the Houthis, ammunition stores, and explosives, and that a Houthi tank was also destroyed by an airstrike launched by an Arab coalition fighter in Alkhadra farms.
 
As on the front in Haradh city, 12 Houthi militants, including two field commanders, were killed and 14 others wounded by the artillery bombardment of the Arab coalition that targeted a meeting for Houthi field commanders, according to the Fifth Military Region Media Center.
 
The Center also reported that 16 militants of the Houthi and Saleh forces were also killed and 17 others wounded when the fighters of the Arab coalition bombed a group of Houthi and Saleh militants receiving military training in one of the farms.
 
The fighters also destroyed Katyusha and Alnajm Althaqeb rockets stores in these farms.
