Netanyahu declares escalatory steps against the Palestinian people

 OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

So-called prime minister of the Israeli occupation government, Benyamin Netanyahu, declared "relentless war" on the Palestinian people, saying that new measures were taken in this matter.

Netanyahu ordered, during a four-hour security meeting Sunday evening, new measures in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank after two separate stabbing attacks in occupied Jerusalem Saturday, one of them fatal.

According to Israeli media sources, among the measures discussed were an increase in the use of administrative detention according to which Palestinians are held without charge or trial, an increase in Israeli forces’ numbers in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, and the reintroduction of the controversial policy of demolishing the suspected attackers’ homes.

At the end of the meeting, Netanyahu announced that he instructed security forces to fast-track the razing of Palestinian suspects' homes, expand the use of administrative detention against Palestinian protesters, reinforce the presence of security forces in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and ban those who express their views about the Israeli occupation of Palestine from the Old City of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), including Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli occupation forces escalated its restrictions on Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank in the wake of the killing of four settlers in the past few days.

Tensions had been steadily mounting in recent weeks across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem due to Israeli restrictions on Palestinians seeking to enter the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and Israeli settlers’ provocative attacks on Palestinian citizens and properties, most notably was the arson attack on a Palestinian family. 5-10-2015 1:13 AM

One killed, 395 injured as tensions escalate in West Bank

TULKAREM/RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

A Palestinian young man succumbed to his wounds in Tulkarem after being seriously injured during overnight clashes that broke out in the city. A total of 395 Palestinians were injured during the clashes.

Hudhaifah Osman Suleiman, 18, is the first Palestinian to be killed during the clashes that erupted late yesterday between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in Tulkarem.  

According to the data, a total of 395 Palestinians were injured in a fresh outbreak of violent clashes across the occupied territories on Sunday. 160 of the casualties were reported in occupied Jerusalem.

32 Palestinians were injured from live rounds and 118 from rubber bullets. 11 citizens suffered injuries sustained in beatings by Israeli security forces or settlers, while the rest suffered tear gas inhalation.

On Sunday, the Palestinian Red Crescent declared a level-three state of emergency in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

It also reported at least 21 attacks against its staff and vehicles by Israeli forces and settlers over the past 72 hours.

Palestinian Allegedly Teen Grabs Gun Of Israeli In Jerusalem, Killing Two, Wounding Baby

A Palestinian teen was shot to death by Israeli police after allegedly stabbing to death an armed Israeli, grabbing the gun of a settler who intervened, then killing an additional person, and wounding two others in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The attacker was identified as Mohanned Shafiq al-Halabi, 19, from Al-Bireh town, near Ramallah.

According to the police, the assailant shot at them with a gun he had grabbed from one of the wounded.

The victims are reportedly all members of the same ultra-Orthodox family. A forty year old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman was listed in critical condition in Hadassah medical center in Jerusalem.

A two year old was reportedly mildly injured, and was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

Following the attack, Israeli police stormed the Old City, ransacking shops and forcing Palestinians out of the area around the Lion's Gate, where the attack took place.

This assault comes after weeks of escalating attacks by the Israeli military and settlers in the Old City of Jerusalem, specifically targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site of Islam.

Palestinians under age 50 have been barred from the area this entire week, as the Jewish festival of Sukkot, commemorating seven days of harvest and remembering the years that Jews spent wandering in the desert after escaping slavery in Egypt.

Injuries reported during renewed clashes in Jenin, al-Khalil

JENIN, (PIC)--

Violent clashes erupted in Jenin and al-Khalil at dawn Monday, which resulted in tear gas suffocation among dozens of Palestinian youths.

In Jenin, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed Yabad, Romana, and Bartaa towns to the north of the city and unleashed heavy fire of tear gas bombs.

Local youths responded by throwing stones and fireworks, forcing the invading soldiers to withdraw from their towns.

The clashes that triggered  before dawn prayers lasted till morning hours, and resulted in several tear gas suffocation cases.

In al-Khalil, similar clashes broke out at the entrance of Aroub refugee camp between local youths and Israeli soldiers who were stationed at the nearby military tower.

The confrontation erupted in protest against the continued Israeli closure of the camp’s entrance for the second day in a row. Tear gas canisters were fired during the clashes.

Along the same line, two Palestinians were detained as clashes erupted at dawn today in Hossan town in Bethlehem to the south of the West Bank.

Several Palestinians Injured In Jenin, One Kidnapped In Bethlehem

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday at dawn, two villages in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, and clashed with local youths, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation. Soldiers also kidnapped a Palestinian near Bethlehem.

Media sources in Jenin said several Israeli military vehicles invaded the villages of Barta'a and Rommana, in Jenin, and clashed with scores of local youths.

The soldiers fired several live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, causing many Palestinians, including families in their homes, to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The soldiers also invaded several olive orchards in Rommana, fired flares and live ammunition.

In addition, several Israeli military vehicles invaded Hindaza area, east of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, searched a number of homes, and kidnapped one Palestinian identified as Wael Issa Abu Jalgheef, 24 years of age.

Clashes also took place near Bet El illegal settlement, northeast of Ramallah, and the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.

In related news, a number of Israeli settlers, living in illegal colonies in the northern part of the West Bank, threw rocks at many Palestinian cars near the Huwwara roadblock, south of Nablus, causing damage.

On Sunday at night, a Palestinian was shot with a gas bomb in the face, near Doura town, in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, while many suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation. A young man and a child were injured after Israeli extremists assaulted them.

Also on Sunday, medical sources have reported that more than 160 Palestinians were injured by Israeli army fire, during clashes in various parts of occupied East Jerusalem, and that one of the wounded suffered a serious injury.

Furthermore, Palestinian teen identified as Hotheifa Othman Suleiman, 18 years of age, died of a serious injury he suffered earlier when Israeli soldiers shot him in the abdomen, during clashes that took place near the Nitzani roadblock, west of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem.

2 children among 4 Palestinians kidnapped by IOF in Occupied Jerusalem

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday evening kidnapped four Palestinian civilians, including two minors, from Occupied Jerusalem on allegations of stone-hurling.

Israeli news outlets said the IOF kidnapped two Palestinian children aged 15 and 16 on charges of throwing stones on occupation officers stationed in Occupied Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, violent clashes rocked Jerusalem’s northern neighborhood of Shu’afat.

The Israeli occupation army attacked the unarmed Palestinian protesters in the area with random spates of tear gas canisters, stun grenades, and rubber bullets.

The attack culminated in the abduction of a number of Palestinian protesters.

Clashes further burst out in Silwan town, where the IOF targeted Palestinian family homes and civilians with tear gas grenades and rubber bullets.

A horde of Israeli vandals reportedly attacked Palestinian passers-by and cars parked in al-Basatin neighborhood with rubbers bullet rounds in the presence of the occupation troops.

Youngster Mohammed Yussef Berkan sustained critical head and eye wounds after he was shot by the IOF during the clashes that rocked Silwan’s al-Thawri neighborhood. 

Injured Mohammed was kidnapped by the IOF shortly afterwards.

Another Palestinian youth reportedly sustained head injuries after he was shot by the IOF in al-Tur neighborhood.

According to the Red Crescent organization the number of Palestinians wounded in Jerusalem clashes with the IOF on Sunday has hit at least 160. 

 

Hamas: Netanyahu's decrees cannot break the Palestinians' will

The Hamas Movement strongly denounced the recent decisions taken by Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu against the Palestinian people and described them as "racist" and "against the international law."

In press remarks on Sunday, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated that Netanyahu's decrees would not succeed in breaking the Palestinian people's will and steadfastness.

Abu Zuhri stressed that Israel's escalation of its crimes against the Palestinians would make the Palestinians more determined to confront the occupation and its violations.  

Recently, Netanyahu had issued a number of edicts aimed at punishing the Palestinians who defend themselves, their people and holy sites against settlers' assaults in Jerusalem and the West Bank and carry out retaliatory attacks.

The edicts gave the security and judicial authorities a free hand to demolish homes of Palestinians, exile and administratively detain them, and carry out on-site executions.

Jewish settlers attack Palestinian hamlets east of Yatta

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Extremist Jewish settlers on Sunday attacked Palestinian homes and property near their settlements, which are built illegally on Palestinian-owned lands east of Yatta city in al-Khalil.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the settlers blocked two roads in Masafer Yatta area and smashed solar panels in the hamlet of Menaizel.

The sources also said that the settlers chased school students as they were walking to their homes in the area and tried to attack houses in the hamlet of al-Karmal, east of Yatta.

The settlers also attacked Palestinian cars traveling on a road north of Yatta and threw stones at them, the sources added.

Jewish settlers invade Palestinian lands south of Jenin

 JENIN, (PIC)--

A horde of extremist Jewish settlers last night occupied Palestinian-owned lands in Silat ad-Dhahr, south of Jenin city, and tried to attack nearby homes.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that about 50 settlers invaded an area where the illegal settlement of Homesh used to be before its evacuation in 2005 and gathered near a water tank there.

They added that the settlers chanted racist slurs against the Arabs and approached Palestinian homes in the town under the protection of Israeli soldiers in an attempt to attack them.

The sources noted the residents had formed popular committees to protect the homes which are located on the outskirts of the town against any attempt by Jewish settlers to attack them.
