Today Is 67th Anniversary of Nakba, Catastrophe, When Israel Was Established By Eviction of Palestinians from their Homeland

May 15, 2015

Editor's Note:

Today is 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (Catastrophe), when Israelis evicted the Palestinian people from their homeland in 1948 and never allowed them to return after the war.

This year, 2015, marked more destruction in the entire Middle East than ever before, as Arab states have been destroyed by invasions, occupations, civil wars, and orchestrated sectarian wars.

Arab governments and people are now so much in pain and struggle for survival that they are no longer talking about the Palestinian Catastrophe and the Zionist-Israeli existential danger.

It's not a secret now that all this Creative Destruction of the Middle East has been planned by the rulers of the Zionist Empire, in order to destroy the Arab states in preparation for the emergence of Israel as the regional super power in the Middle East, extending from the Nile to the Euphrates.

Palestinians mark 67th Nakba anniversary

May 15, 2015

GAZA, (PIC)--

The Palestinian people will commemorate on Friday, May 15, at home and abroad the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe), which occurred in 1948.

The Nakba anniversary is one of the most important events that are solemnized by the Palestinian people, especially those in the diaspora.

The Nakba denotes the mass displacement of Palestinian natives from their towns and villages by armed Jewish and Zionist gangs during the 1948 war.

Israeli tenders for settlement construction in W. Bank, Jerusalem

 OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli ministry of housing has republished tenders for the building of 85 housing units in the illegal West Bank settlement of Giv'at Ze'ev, according to settlement watchdog Peace Now.

The ministry on Thursday also invited tenders for the construction of 1500 hotel rooms in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukkaber, in addition to a settlement project in a 10-dunum plot of land located near the palace of the British high commissioner in the same area.

Peace Now said that the tenders for the Giv'at Ze'ev settlement units had been issued last year without receiving any response from contractors, so it was re-issued once again.

In this regard, Ahmed Qurei, director of Jerusalem affairs at the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), condemned the Israeli government for renewing the tenders for the expansion of Giv'at settlement, and described the plan as futureless.

He said that Israel's settlement and Judaization plans are part of its ongoing ethnic cleansing policy against the Palestinians.

Belgium deplores Israeli decision to expand settlements in Jerusalem

BRUSSELS, (PIC)--

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Beligiun Didier Reynders strongly deplores the Israeli authorities' decision to reinforce the expansion of settlements in Ramat Shlomo in occupied Jerusalem.

Minister Reynders recalls that settlements are illegal under international law. He welcomes the fact that the EU and its Member States continue to ensure that European legislation and bilateral agreements are implemented.

In November 2014, the Foreign Ministers of the countries of the European Union had already expressed their opposition to these plans, calling on Israel to rescind its decision.

As noted by the spokesperson of High Representative Federica Mogherini, Israel's determination to pursue its settlement policy in the occupied territorie not only threatens the viability of the two-state solution but also seriously questions its commitment to conclude a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

Earlier, Israeli authorities approved the establishment of 1531 housing units in Ramat Shlomo in occupied Jerusalem.

The 1531 housing units project was first declared during US Vice President Joe Biden to the region in March 2010. The settlement project was then frozen.

Intifada Youth calls for mass participation in “Friday of Anger”

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

The Intifada Youth Coalition called for a mass participation in a Friday rally, set to kick off from all flashpoints, to mark the 67th anniversary of al-Nakba.

The Intifada Youth Coalition urged Palestinians, from all spectra and factions, to partake in the mass-rallies set to be launched from all flashpoints on Friday, May 15 after noon prayers.

The youth coalition spoke out against the silence maintained by the Arab and international communities vis-à-vis the Palestinian cause on the 67th anniversary of al-Nakba.

IOF breaks into civilian homes in Jenin, summons youngsters for interrogation

 JENIN, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Friday rolled into Jenin’s town of Sanur, in the northern West Bank, and wreaked havoc on Palestinian family homes moments before they summoned a group of youngsters for interrogation.

A PIC news reporter quoted local sources as stating that dozens of Israeli army jeeps moved into Jenin’s southern town of Sanur and cordoned off its main streets and alleys shortly before they broke into two Palestinian civilian homes and interrogated the native inhabitants.

The invading IOF patrols further summoned the son’s of the two house owners for interrogation at the Salem camp. The targeted youngsters were identified as 21-year-old Khalil Ibrahim Wild Ali and 20-year-old Fuad Sadek Gharbeiyeh.

Meanwhile, IOF soldiers deployed in Deir Ghazala village summoned the Palestinian young man Mohamed Mahmoud Nazazla, 30, for interrogation as he passed through a military checkpoint randomly pitched in the area.

The Israeli occupation soldiers further stormed Jenin’s Industrial Zone at the crack of dawn and were stationed at the Nazareth and Kharouba neighborhoods.
