Hamas warns of Israeli schemes targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque

[ 24/10/2013 - 10:49 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Member of Hamas Political Bureau, Izzat al-Rishq, said that Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to an Israeli fierce Judaization campaign that aims at dividing it, through imposing tight restrictions on Muslim worshipers and raiding the Mosque on a daily basis.

He stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque with its 144 dunums both above the ground and below is a Muslim Waqf and can never be waived.

The leader in the Hamas movement called on the Palestinian people to intensify their presence at the mosque and to defend it from the Israeli repeated break-ins.

For his part, Dr. Ismail Radwan, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs warned of the Israeli schemes to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially between Muslims and Jews.

Commenting on Knesset's proposal to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque, he said the mosque is an Islamic Waqf property and only belongs to Muslims and no one but them has right to it.

He called on the Muslim and Arab world to save al-Aqsa mosque and Jerusalem from the Israeli systematic Judaization campaign.

For its part, Hamas movement expressed its total rejection of the Israeli Knesset's proposal to divide al-Aqsa mosque between Muslim and Jewish worshipers temporally and spatially.

The Islamic movement warned the occupation of approving such bill, considering it a flagrant violation of the sanctity of the mosque and a serious provocation to the Muslims' religious feelings around the world.

The movement stressed the need to unite the Palestinian Arab and Islamic efforts in defense of the holy site in light of the serious Israeli schemes to impose a fait accompli in al-Aqsa mosque.

Hamas called on the Arab and Islamic world to bear their responsibility towards the Islamic Waqf and to put an end to Israeli attacks against it.

Ya'alon: We are ready to face any Palestinian escalation in the West Bank

[ 24/10/2013 - 09:19 AM ]

NAZARETH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation government war minister, Moshe Ya'alon, said that the Israeli security agencies watch with great concern the growing spate of Palestinian resistance operations in the West Bank and are ready to deal with any escalation.

Ya'alon made his remarks during a session held by the Knesset committee on foreign affairs and security on Wednesday.

He expressed his belief that the wave of what he described as the recent subversive attacks were unbearable and resulted from the Palestinian incitement campaign and the failure of the Palestinian authority to curb it.

The Israeli official, however, ruled out the possibility that such Palestinian attacks would be an engine for a third intifada.

For his part, head of the committee Avigdor Lieberman said that any peace settlement with the Palestinian side must be based on a long-term transitional agreement guaranteeing security for Israel and economic well-being for the Palestinians.
