NABLUS, (PIC)--

Tadhamun Foundation for Human Rights said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed five Palestinians and kidnapped more than 250 others during the month of October in different parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The researcher at the foundation Ahmed Beitawi pointed out that IOF soldiers killed five Palestinian citizens, including four in the West Bank and one in Gaza.

Israeli daily arrests continued in different cities, villages and refugee camps in the West Bank and the border areas in the Gaza Strip. Tadhamun reported that the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped about 250 citizens, including two women and more than 50 children aged between 8 and 18 years old.

Beitawi pointed out that the IOF escalated during the last month the campaign against Palestinian university students in the West Bank. They kidnapped 15 students at al-Najah University affiliated with the Islamic bloc, then released some of them and extended the detention of the others, while two of them were held in administrative detention.

The IOF also kidnapped two Palestinian students studying abroad on their return home.

Beitawi said the occupation forces kidnapped a number of liberated captives, Hamas leaders and two MPs from al-Khalil during October.

They also arrested Mahmoud Shanti from Qalqilya, who works as a photojournalist for the Chinese news agency Xinhua.

Resistance In Gaza Downs An Israeli Drone

Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip declared, Sunday November 3, 2013, that it managed to down an Israeli drone flying over the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The fighters managed to control the drone and downed it in an open area in northern Gaza, while Israeli sources admitted that the drone did not drop due to a technical error.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its fighters managed to down the drone.

This is the second time armed groups in Gaza manage to down an Israeli drone, as the Al-Qassam Brigades declared during the latest Israeli war on Gaza, a year ago, that it managed to down an Israeli drone, and documented the incident.

An Israeli military spokesperson stated Sunday that the drone fell inside the Gaza Strip, effectively falling in the hands of the resistance.

He said that the drone landed and crashed due to a “malfunction”, an issue that the resistance challenged.

In related news, Israeli sources said that Israeli Defense Minister, Moshe Yaalon, and a number of senior military leaders, survived a possible attack by Palestinian fighters as the official toured in the border tunnel that was uncovered by the army a month ago, leading to a settlement across the border.

The sources said that, despite the fact that the army said it defused the explosives in the tunnel, a bomb was still active, but did not explode.

Yaalon and the army commanders visited the tunnel on October 29, and two days later, the bomb exploded as soldiers of the corps of engineers were inspecting the tunnel, leading to five injuries.

Israel said that the bomb was in the runnel visited by Yaalon, and that it could have exploded at any given moment, but it exploded the next day, and that the army started a classified investigation into the issue.

Netanyahu orders building of wall in JV along borders with Jordan

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation government prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has given instructions for the building of a wall along the borders with Jordan in the Jordan Valley, Hebrew press reported on Sunday.

Maariv daily said that the instructions were given for planning that wall, which would entail full Israeli control of the area.

The decision was taken despite the ongoing negotiations between Israel and the PA with the Jordan Valley being one of the negotiated issues.

The paper quoted Netanyahu as saying that one of the reasons for building the wall was fears of alleged influx of Syrian refugees from Jordan in addition to sending a message to the Palestinians who object to the presence of Israel on the Jordan Valley mainly that Israel does not intend to withdraw from the Jordan Valley in any future settlement.

IOFs Kidnap 4 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Sunday kidnapped four Palestinians in the West Bank, and transferred one of them to Hawara detention center.

Palestinian local and security sources said the Israeli occupation forces stormed at dawn Sunday several Palestinian towns and villages west of Ramallah, in the center of the West Bank, where they raided and searched the houses and checked the identities of the residents under the pretext of searching for "wanted persons."

They reported that the IOF kidnapped from the city of Ramallah and the town of Ni'lin west of the city three civilians, including Palestinian youth Murad Farroukh, 19.

The sources pointed out that twenty military vehicles surrounded the house of Farroukh and blasted its main door.

They added that the occupation forces confiscated the young man's computer and some other devices, before kidnapping him and taking him to an unknown destination.

Palestinian security sources said that the IOF kidnapped another young man at the Bisan crossing near the city of Jericho and took him to Hawara detention center, south of Nablus.

Meanwhile, a citizen from Aroub refugee camp was transferred to hospital for treatment after Israeli occupation soldiers attacked him.

Illegal Israeli Jewish fanatics raise Israeli flag in Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

A number of illegal Israeli Jewish fanatic settlers raised the Israeli flag inside the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday.

The settlers broke into the holy site and performed Talmudic rituals and chanted religious hymns.

Ir Amim movement’s executive director, Yehudit Oppenheimer, described the settlers’ act as “provocative”.

Ir Amim is an Israeli left-wing non-profit organization founded in 2004 that focuses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Jerusalem.

Illegal Israeli Jewish settlers raid Yatta under IOF protection

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

A group of illegal Israeli Jewish settlers raided Um Al-Khair village to the east of Yatta town, south of Al-Khalil, on Sunday under Israeli army protection and attacked citizens.

Activist Ratib Al-Jabour told the PIC that the settlers tried to expel inhabitants and threatened them with death if they did not abandon their village.

The settlers tried to implement demolition orders against village homes in order to pave way for the building of more housing units in their nearby settlements of Karma’il and Ma’on, Jabour added.

The activist said that confrontations took place between the settlers and the inhabitants, who were defending their land and property.

IOF raid in northern Gaza Strip

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) advanced into northern Gaza Strip at a late night hour on Saturday amid intensified flights of warplanes.

A field observer told Quds Press that IOF soldiers in armored vehicles escorted military bulldozers into the former settlement of Netsanit, north of Beith Lahia town.

He said that the invading forces combed the area before retreating beyond the border fence.

The Hebrew radio said that army units were summoned to the area after the discovery of “suspicious traces” near the northern fence of the Gaza Strip.

IOF soldiers storm eastern Nablus, attack foreign activists in nearby hamlet

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the eastern areas of Nablus city at dawn Sunday and stationed near the refugee camps of Askar and Balata.

Local sources said that the soldiers stayed for an hour before retreating to Elon Moreh settlement.

Meanwhile, IOF soldiers assaulted dozens of foreign activists in Khirbat Al-Tawil hamlet near the Nablus villages of Beit Forik and Aqraba on Saturday night.

Locals said that the soldiers fired sound bombs and teargas canisters at the activists. IOF patrols had destroyed farmers’ cultivated land in that same area last week.

Palestinian and Syrian refugees stage sit-in in Lampedusa, Italy

ROME, (PIC)--

More than three hundred Palestinian and Syrian refugees staged a sit-in in the Italian island of Lampedusa on Saturday to protest against the poor living conditions in the refugees’ camp on the island.

The protesters appealed to the human rights organizations and the international community to intervene and end their “disastrous” living conditions on that island.

They handed a memorandum to the director of the camp demanding the improvement of their living conditions, equipping the clinic with necessary medicines and medical materials and equipment, and quickly deporting them from the island towards the Italian cities.

Quds Press agency quoted one of the protesters as saying that the Italian authorities have been ignoring the presence of large numbers of refugees in the Lampedusa camp, and pointed to the difficult living conditions which the refugees have been suffering.

One of the doctors, who works to provide medical care for refugees, warned of the seriousness of health conditions caused by the overcrowding, noting that some contagious skin diseases began to appear among the refugees.

Delegations of Palestinian institutions operating in Europe, which visited the refugees who survived the sinking of their ship, appealed to the relief institutions in Europe to provide legal, humanitarian and political assistance to the refugees.
