Participate in the Global March to Jerusalem, in Support for the Palestinian People, on Friday 7th June 2013
Al-Zubda: The Global March to Jerusalem is a peaceful event [ 05/06/2013 - 09:02 PM ] RAFAH, (PIC)--
Majid al-Zubda spokesman for the Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ) confirmed that the march consisting of coordinated international mass rallies to be held after noon prayers on Friday, 7 June, coinciding with the 46th anniversary of the Arab Naksa, is a peaceful event. The GMJ will be launched from the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia and Indonesia, in addition to a number of European countries. It is expected that hundreds of thousands will take part in the march, and will meet, as scheduled, the nearest point to the occupied Jerusalem they can reach. Zubda told PIC that the GMJ carries three messages. It is warning the occupation that "we are all ready to defend and protect Jerusalem" and it is telling the Jerusalemites that they are not alone facing the occupation. The march's third message is addressed to the Arab regimes, calling on them to support and defend Jerusalem against the Israeli increasing attacks, spokesman for the GMJ added.
Khatib: The Global March to Jerusalem, a step on the road to liberation [ 05/06/2013 - 09:36 PM ] OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Deputy Head of the Islamic Movement, Shaikh Kamal Khatib, considered that the Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ), to be launched on Friday on the 46th anniversary of the Arab Naksa, as a step on the road to liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque. Khatib told the Jordanian "Al-Sabil" newspaper that the Israeli occupation is living in a dilemma, as it becomes aware that the reality of the Arab peoples has changed. The GMJ will be launched from the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia and Indonesia, in addition to a number of European countries. It is expected that hundreds of thousands will take part in the march, and will meet, as scheduled, at the nearest point to occupied Jerusalem they can reach. The Jerusalemite leader hailed this popular movement, calling on all the sons of the nation to join it. For its part; Al-Quds International institution called on the Arab and Islamic nation to support Jerusalem and Palestine, on the forty-sixth anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem. Director General of the institution Yassin Hammoud urged all NGOs and the active parties to participate in the GMJ, "to support the Palestinian people and to defend the city of Jerusalem from the Israeli occupation's attacks." Hammoud said in a press statement on Wednesday that more than 60 countries around the world will participate in the marches that will head for the nearest border point with Jerusalem, in support of Palestine and in rejection of all the Israeli practices and crimes against the occupied city and its people. He also called on the Arab peoples to take serious move to liberate Jerusalem and to defend it, its people and its holy sites. ============= Palestinian calls for broad participation in the GMJ [ 31/05/2013 - 12:10 PM ] RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Salah Al-Khawaja, a member of the GMJ International Executive Committee (http://gm2j.com/main/), has called for broad participation in this year’s march to take place across the globe on Friday 7th June 2013. More than 60 countries across the globe will participate in the march in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in support of Jerusalem in light of the Israeli Judaization schemes. Coordinator of the GMJ-West Bank told Quds Press on Thursday that this march is the second of its kind where a popular march was organized two years ago marking Land Day as a response to the Israeli racist policies in occupied Jerusalem and West Bank. Khawaja confirmed that the GMJ is a new form of struggle against the Israeli apartheid. Such popular events would unite Palestinian efforts at home and in the diaspora in addition to giving the chance to supporters of the Palestine cause across the globe to stand against the Israeli brutal policies, he said. Massive marches will be organized in occupied Jerusalem and West Bank mainly at the Damascus Gate (Bab Al-Amoud) of the Old City on 7th June, he added. Mass demonstrations and large rallies, he continued, will be organized in surrounding countries towards Jerusalem or the nearest point possible to it according to the circumstances of each country. Protests also will be organized in front of Israeli embassies in the capitals of different countries across the world to demand an end to the occupation of Jerusalem and the rest of Palestinian land. The International Executive Committee of the Global March to Jerusalem announced this year’s March to take place across the globe on Friday 7th June 2013 in coincidence with the 46th anniversary of the occupation of the eastern part of the Holy City in response to the continued Israeli occupation of the Holy City, its persistent violations against the city and its indigenous Arab inhabitants – both Christian and Muslim, and its continued racist practices which are incompatible with UN resolutions and international humanitarian law. Palestinian Ministry of Justice demands pressuring Israel to stop Judaization of Jerusalem [ 31/05/2013 - 10:49 AM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Ministry of Justice in Gaza demanded the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop the Judaization and stealing of lands in occupied Jerusalem. Omar al-Borsh, undersecretary of the ministry, said in a statement on Thursday that the occupation wants to impose new facts on the ground through the expansion of settlements and the construction of thousands of new settlement units. He pointed out that Israel has been violating the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and the Fourth Hague Convention of 1957, which prohibit and criminalize all acts of land grabbing and the forced expulsion of the Palestinian indigenous inhabitants. Al-Borsh demanded the Arab and Islamic nations to take a real and firm step in order to stop the construction of settlements and the Judaization of Palestinian lands.
