Israeli Occupation Forces Special Units Shoot, Arrest Palestinians in Nakba Day

May 15, 2012

Editor's Note:

By Hassan El-Najjar

Today, May 15, is the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the Zionist state of Israel. Palestinians call this day as the Nakba (Catastrophe) Day, in reference to their eviction from their homeland by the invading Israeli occupation forces.

It is not only a catastrophe to the Palestinian people but to the entire Middle East and the world as a whole, as the Zionist invaders brought death and destruction to the region through their major wars of aggression in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, and 2009. Their aggression not only targeted Palestine but it also extended to Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

The Zionist invaders have also kept the Palestinian civilian population under their brutal military occupation since 1948 and in 1967, and terrorized them during the two Uprisings (Intifadas) of 1987-1993 and 2000-2005.

God knows how many more wars, covert operations, assassinations, and regime changes  in the Middle East and around the world were launched under the influence of World Zionists for the benefit of their monster-state of Israel.

OCCUPIED WB, (PIC)--

Colonel Amit Yamin, commander of Zionist Army's operations in occupied West Bank, said that the army has stepped up arrest campaign against Hamas members and activists in the occupied West Bank, pointing out that the movement "is working to re-build its forces in the West Bank."

Yamin added that the number of arrests among the Hamas members in the West Bank has risen since the beginning of this year compared to the arrest cases during the same period last year.

"There is a relation between the rise in the arrest numbers, and the release of Palestinian prisoners in the last exchange deal, which confirms that Hamas is trying to build its forces in the West Bank," he claimed.

The Zionist military official pointed out that during March 320 Palestinian were arrested and turned to administrative detention compared to the same month last year where 220 Palestinian people were detained.
