Israeli Judge Leaves Courtroom When a Tortured Palestinian Boy Said He Does Not Recognize Court or Zionist Entity

Palestinian child provokes Zionist judge into leaving court room

[ 23/03/2012 - 02:49 PM ]
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Palestinian child Ahmed Al-Sulaibi (probably misspelled as Al-Salibi) provoked the judge of Ofer military court which was convened to look into his case and those of seven other children, all under 16 and all hail from Beit Ummar to the north of al-Khalil city (Hebron), when he said that he does not recognise the court or the Zionist entity and described them as a gang.

According to the lawyers of the Palestinian Prisoners Society, Sulaibi was asked to stand up by the judge and the prosecution lawyer began to read the indictment list, but the child interrupted the prosecutor saying: "I do not recognise you. I am a 16-year-old child and you are unjustly trying me. You are a Mafia gang and I do not recognise your state.”

When the judge heard these words, he got very angry and left the court room warning the boy that his punishment was going to be severe, according to those who attended the hearing.

Sulaibi was arrested on 12 March in the town of Beit Ummar and was subjected to beating and “various forms of barbaric torture,” according to defence lawyers who said that signs of torture are still visible on his face and body.

WEST BANK, (PIC) --

Three Palestinian women suffered bruising when IOF troops assaulted participants in the Ma'sara protest in solidarity with Hana' al-Shalabi who is on hunger strike in occupation jails. The protesters also said they wanted to highlight the suffering of Palestinian mothers and women in general.

Muhammad Buraija, the coordinator of the popular committee in Ma’sara said that the IOF quelled the weekly protest when protestors headed to the apartheid wall carrying Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in solidarity with Hana' al-Shalabi and stopped the protestors, mostly women, from advancing.

In al-Khalil, the Friday prayers were held in the open near the Arabaeen Mosque in Tel Rumaida at the centre of the city, to express solidarity with Palestinian captives in occupation jails.

The committee to defend al-Khalil and the popular committee against the wall and settlements called for Friday prayers at the protest tent where activists are protesting the occupation’s administrative detention policy and in solidarity with Palestinian captives on hunger strike in occupation jails, the protest is held under the slogan “O' Khalil be strong, our captives’ night has been long.”

Spokesman for al-Khalil defence committee, Adnan Da'na said that the sit in at the protest tent was held to raise voices and muster support for the struggle against administrative detention policy, to express solidarity with the captives and to express solidarity with Hana’ al-Shalabi who enters her 37th day of “hunger strike for dignity and against administrative detention.”
