Qassam fighter killed in Israeli raid

GAZA, (PIC)--

A member of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, was killed on Thursday in an Israeli aerial raid on a position for the armed wing in Zaytoun suburb in Gaza city.

Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the health ministry’s public relations manager, told the PIC reporter that the raid killed Mahmoud Al-Haiji, with no other casualties suffered.

Local sources earlier told the reporter that Haiji was killed instantly in the raid, which targeted a position for the armed wing in Zaitun.

Three citizens wounded in IOF shelling east of Gaza

GAZA, (PIC)--

Three Palestinian citizens were wounded on Thursday morning in an Israeli incursion east of Shuja'iyah suburb in Gaza city, medical sources said.

Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the health ministry’s spokesman, said that Israeli army tanks fired a number of shells wounding the three citizens, describing their injuries as serious to moderate.

Local sources said that Israeli occupation soldiers mounting a number of armored vehicles had advanced into the same targeted area and bulldozed land amidst indiscriminate firing.

The sources said that an Israeli artillery shell fired at a civilian car in Shuja'iyah caused the casualties.

Palestinian prisoner suffers heart stroke

JENIN, (PIC)--

Prisoner Shadi Mousa has suffered a heart stroke in an Israeli jail and underwent cardiac catheterization procedure in Ramle prison hospital.

Local sources in Jenin, following up Mousa’s condition, said that he was still suffering from rapid heartbeats and is consuming eight types of tablets per day.

They said that his condition was worsening daily and charged the Israeli prison service (IPS) with ignoring his condition. They said that the IPS refuses to grant him simple medical aid such as a sphygmomanometer.

International Activist Injured As Israeli Troops Attack Hebron

A French citizen was hit in the shoulder as the Israeli occupation army fired tear gas canisters and sound grenades in the old city of Hebron on Tuesday.

During a disturbance between between Israeli forces and Palestinians, Israeli soldiers opened fire in the al-Laban market. Witnesses said a French Woman was hit in the shoulder by a tear gas canister. As a result of the incident, Israeli forces closed the entrances to the old city.

Hebron, in the West Bank is home to 30,000 Palestinians. Parts of the old city of Hebron are under Israeli control and the Israel military presence is due in large part to the 800 illegal Israeli settlers who live there.

International activists are often targeted by the Israeli military. Salah Khawaja, coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements reported yesterday that many international activists have informed him that they will charge Israel in international courts if Israeli authorities continue to target the international protesters and Palestinians during peaceful marches.

Palestinian Shot by Israeli Army, Then Stabbed by Settlers

Israeli occupation forces shot a Palestinian man in the northern West Bank on Saturday, then a group of Israeli settlers repeatedly stabbed him, a Palestinian official told Ma’an news.

The incident happened in Yanun village, south of Nablus. Jawdat Bani Jabir, 43, was shot by soldiers in the face and the foot. Then a group of Israeli settlers entered the village and began stabbing him repeatedly. His current condition could not be confirmed.

Governorate official Ghassan Daghlas also added that in addition to stabbing Jabir, they also fatally stabbed five cattle. He noted that the people of the village earn their livelihood through agriculture and livestock.

An Israeli occupation army spokesman said he was looking into the incident. He also added that the villagers came out to defend their homes.

The village of Yanoun is surrounded by Israeli settlements which have been deemed illegal by both international and Israeli law.
