Resident Wounded By Army Fire In Gaza

Palestinian Medical sources reported on Saturday morning that Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire at dozens of residents near “Nahal Oz” area, east of Gaza city; one resident was injured.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire randomly at residents and farmers in the area, while the residents were working, and farming their lands, The Palestine News and Info Agency, WAFA, reported.

The wounded resident was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Hamad, 23; he was shot in his right thigh, and was moved to a local hospital. The eyewitnesses said that the army was not provoked in any way, and that the farmers fled their lands fearing further attacks by the army.

Israeli military soldiers set fire Saturday morning at Palestinian civilians near “Nahal Oz” zone, east of the Gaza Strip led to the injuring of a Palestinian young man, the Maan News Agency reported on Saturday morning.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces randomly set fire at Palestinian citizens and farmers near “Nahal Oz” zone leading to the injuring of a Palestinian citizen.

The wounded was identified as Mohammed Ibrahim Hamad, 23 years old; his injury was described as moderate.

“Surprisingly, the fire was opened at citizens and farmers east of the Gaza Strip which led them to evacuate their farms at fears of targeting them,” the eyewitnesses confirmed

Late Friday, Israeli security sources said that a Palestinian home-made projectile was launched into the beach of city of Asqalan.

“The rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip. No damages or injuries were reported,” said the sources.

Earlier this week the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip have struck a ceasefire deal with Israel, mediated by Egypt, after Israeli warplanes assassinated five fighters of the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad.

Two killed in airstrike on Beit Lahia

Two Palestinian men were killed Thursday afternoon as a result of an airstrike carried out by Israeli occupation air force targeting the Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

Adham Abu Selmiyyah, spokesman for the emergency services told PIC that Muhammad Abu Helmeyyah, 22 years, and Nasser Elayyan, 23 years, both farmers were killed in the Israeli occupation airstrike on Beit Lahiya and that their bodies which were taken to Kamal Adwan hospital were badly mutilated.

Local sources told PIC correspondent that a group of resistance fighters confronted a group of IOF soldiers who infiltrated into the area achieving a direct hit.

The same sources added that military reinforcements rushed to the area and helicopters hovered above firing two rockets which resulted in the death of the two men.

Hebrew media sources said that a military jeep sustained a direct hit after Palestinian resistance fighters targeted an IOF patrol. Meanwhile, the Qassam Brigades announced that one of it fighters was killed as a result of the air attack on Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Thursday, the Qassam Brigades, said that Nasr Ibrahim Elayyan, 23 years, from Beit Lahia was killed Thursday afternoon in an Israeli airstrike while working in his field.

Israeli occupation soldiers kidnapped on Saturday a Palestinian resident, active in nonviolent resistance against the Annexation Wall and settlements, in Beit Ummar Town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

The resident was identified as Yousuf Abdul-Hamid Abu Maria, 38. He was taken prisoner after the army violently broke into his home and searched.

Israeli repeatedly kidnaps and imprisons Palestinians who are active in nonviolent resistance in an attempt to silence the nonviolent protests that are usually met with excessive use of force by the Israeli army. Dozens of casualties, including among international and Israeli activists, were reported in different parts of the West Bank due to these Israeli military attacks.

On Friday, soldiers attacked several nonviolent protests in a number of West Bank villages, mainly in Bil’n, Ni’lin and Nabi Saleh, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, in addition to attacking nonviolent protesters in Al-Ma’sara village, near Bethlehem, and in Kafr Qaddoum village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Army Attacks Weekly Protests Against The Wall, Injuries Reported

Israeli occupation soldiers attacked on Friday the weekly nonviolent protest against the Annexation Wall and settlements, in Bil’in village near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, dozens suffered the effects of teargas inhalation. Soldiers also attacked nonviolent protests in Nil’in village, Nabi Saleh, Kafr Qaddoum, and Al Ma’sara.

The Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil’in reported that a Norwegian delegation from the Palestinian Cultural Exchange Foundation and dozens of Palestinian, international and Israeli peace activists, participated in the weekly nonviolent protest.

The protest started after Friday prayers in the village and headed towards the land that was returned to the residents this June after the residents won a court ruling in this regard.

The Committee reported that the protestors carried Palestinian flags and a “Waves of Freedom” banner, in honor of the Irish and Canadian ships heading to Gaza to break the siege. The ships were intercepted by the Israeli Navy on Friday.

The protest also came in commemoration with the infamous Balfour Declaration of November 2nd, 1917, in which Britain, the occupier of Palestine at the time, promised Palestine as a homeland for the Jewish People.

The protesters chanted against the Israeli occupation, the illegal Annexation Wall and settlements, and called for the freedom of all Palestinian political prisoners held by Israel, in addition to ending the illegal Israeli siege on Gaza.

As the protestors arrive at the Abu Lemon Natural Reserve, a number of protestors managed to remove a section of the barbed-wire and some iron posts surrounding the Annexation Wall.

Soldiers stationed behind the concrete Annexation Wall fired gas bombs at the protesters, the journalists and international supporters.

Also on Friday, soldiers kidnapped Hamza Bornat, 18, a resident of Bil’in, while he was documenting the events that took place in Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah, during the weekly protest there that also marked the 94th anniversary of the Balfour declaration.

Bornat is a volunteer cameraman for the Friends of Freedom and Justice, and the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements, in Bil’in village. He spent a year in Israeli detention centers before and was released a few months ago.

Furthermore, soldiers attacked nonviolent protesters in Ni’lin village, near Ramallah, and fired gas bombs at them.

Troops also attacked the weekly nonviolent protests in Al Ma’sara village, near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and prevented them from reaching their lands where Israel is constructing the Annexation Wall. Troops attacked the protesters with batons and rifle-buts.

The army further attacked the nonviolent protestors in Kafr Qaddoum village, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and fired gas bombs at them. At least twelve residents, including five children, were treated for the effects of teargas inhalation.

The protesters were also demanding the army to open the main entrance of the village, blocked by the army since 10 years.
