Khuraisha Calls for Full Palestinian Uprising Against Israeli Occupation and Internal Division

Palestinian Legislative Council member Dr. Hassan Khuraisha of Tulkarem called Thursday for a “full Palestinian uprising” against occupation and division, calling them a common enemy to the Palestinians.

“[Israel’s] brutality and crimes against our people in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, have begun to fray our people, who are still waiting for alleged peace, which the [Israeli] occupation uses as a cover for its brutal crimes against our people, such as murder, displacement, seizure of their property, and judiazation of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, while division and its continuation complement the occupation,” Khuraisha said.

“If all of these brutal crimes Israel and its herds of settlers practice against our people do not unite us, I don’t believe there is anything else to unite us again,” he added.

“[Israel’s] crime in Silwan and Jerusalem yesterday, and the rise in settler attacks on common farmers and theft of their crops pave the way to push matters to an overwhelming popular explosion in the face of this usurping occupation,” the MP went on to say.

Khuraisha accused Netanyahu and members of his government of misleading the world when pretending to reach out for peace, as they mobilize extremist groups and settlers to escalate crimes against Palestinians.

This requires Palestinian leaders to re-evaluate the situation and make bold decisions towards this reality, which is controlled by military strength and not [civil] rights, Khuraisha concluded.
