NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq:

Three policemen were killed and 14 others were wounded in three explosions in western Mosul on Tuesday, a police source said.

“Three explosive devices went off consecutively in Mosul al-Jadieda region, western Mosul, killing three policemen and injuring 14 others, including a colonel and a passing woman,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He did not give further details.

Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.

7 people wounded as bomb hits U.S. convoy in Nassiriya

THI-QAR / Aswat al-Iraq:

Seven people were wounded and a U.S. vehicle and three civilian cars were damaged when a bomb exploded in central Nassiriya on Tuesday, according to a security source.

“Anti-Shields bomb went off Tuesday (Sept. 21) targeting a U.S. convoy in central Nassiriya, injuring seven persons, including three women and a child,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The blast damaged a U.S. vehicle and three civilian cars,” he added.

Nassiriya, the capital of Thi-Qar, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.

2 soldiers killed, 1 injured in blast in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq:

Two Iraqi army soldiers were killed on Tuesday and one was wounded when a roadside bomb went off in central Kirkuk city.

“The blast targeted an Iraqi army vehicle near the Baghdad Garage, central Kirkuk,” a local police source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He did not mention further details.

The oil-rich city of Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
