Israeli Air Raid Destroys Soap Factory in Southern Gaza

 [ 16/09/2010 - 09:53 AM ]

KHAN YOUNIS, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces air raids at dawn Thursday blasted a soap factory in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, and deserted land causing severe material damage to the factory.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that an Israeli F-16 fired a missile at the soap and detergents factory owned by Ayman Darwish to the northwest of Khan Younis causing material damage but no casualties were reported.

The Israeli warplanes launched another raid later on firing two missiles at a deserted patch of land near to a position for the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas northwest of Rafah with no casualties reported.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) reinforced their presence along the borders with Gaza in the wake of the military escalation against the Strip over the past few days that killed four Palestinians since Sunday including a 91-year-old shepherd.

The Israeli TV 2 channel reported last night that the IOF soldiers were redeploying in anticipation of any "emergency".

A Likud minister in the Israeli coalition government threatened to wage a large-scale offensive against the Strip in the event rockets continued to be fired from it on Israeli targets.
