Jerusalem Declared Permanent Capital of Arab Culture by Arab Ministers Meeting in Doha Cultural minister appreciates election of J'lem as Arab cultural capital [ 28/10/2010 - 02:29 PM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- Palestinian cultural minister Osama al-Issawi said he appreciated the view of Arab ministers, who met in Doha, Qatar, to adopt Jerusalem as the permanent capital of Arab culture, at the same time praising resolutions they made during the conference to defend the holy city. Issawi said in a press release Thursday that all possible efforts must be made to protect the holy city from systematic religious conversion planned by Israel, stressing the importance of aiding Palestinians in Jerusalem to save the Arab presence in the city and maintain the Aqsa Mosque and other Islamic and Christian antiquities. He called on his Arab counterparts along with the Arab and international cultural forum to pressure Israel to stop its policy of Judaization and erasing and falsifying the landmarks in Jerusalem and Palestine.
