Abbas Says Israelis Canceled the Oslo Accords and All Agreements with Palestinians, Seeks UN Imposed Solution Abbas proposes int’l mandate from UN on territories after failed talks [ 11/10/2010 - 06:29 PM ] AMMAN, (PIC)-- Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said that Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, meeting with Arab leaders in the Sirt, Libya, Arab League Summit, proposed the idea of seeking an imposed international mandate from the UN on 1967 occupied Palestinian territories as an alternative for the failed negotiations with Israel. De facto Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas admitted to officials that there was no point in the Palestinian Authority’s existence after Israel abolished the Oslo Agreements and withdrew the PA’s jurisdiction over Palestinian lands. The Agence France-Presse on Monday quoted Erekat as saying in the Jordanian capital of Amman: “Abbas assured the Arabs during the summit that Israel has actually cancelled the Oslo agreement and the rest of the agreements signed with the Palestine Liberation Organization.” “Abbas also confirmed that in addition to Israel’s cancellation of the agreements signed with us, it also completely revoked the Palestinian political, legal, and security jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority over Palestinian territories,” Erekat added.
