LAHORE/ ISLAMABAD:

Two NATO gunship helicopters wounded three people, after violating Pakistan’s airspace in North Waziristan, a private TV channel reported on Friday. According to sources, the NATO gunship helicopters opened fire in North Waziristan’s Dattakhel area, injuring three people. The helicopters, intruding several kilometres into Pakistani territory, struck the Lowara Mandi village in Dattakhel.

However, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said that no NATO aircraft crossed the border into Pakistan, and there were no reported injuries.

“We are aware of a claim reporting a cross border incident that involved a NATO aircraft in North Waziristan on Friday,” said a press release issued by the US Embassy. “We refer questions concerning the integrity of Pakistani airspace to the Pakistan Air Force,” the press release added. daily times monitor/app

NATO tanker torched in Khuzdar

QUETTA/ JAMRUD:

Unidentified armed men torched a NATO container near Zawa area of Khuzdar on Friday. According to sources, the container was heading towards Chaman border from Karachi when the gunmen attacked the container and took away with them its driver and cleaner and set the container ablaze.

Container was completely destroyed in the attack. Separately, tribal police arrested on Friday a man after his failed attempt to blow up a tanker carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan. US drone attack kills four Pakistanis

MIRANSHAH:

A US drone attack targeted a vehicle in northwestern tribal belt on Friday, killing four (Pakistanis) near the Afghan border, local security officials said. The unmanned aircraft targeted the vehicle in Pir Keley village, 10 kilometres east of Miranshah.

“It was a US drone attack and three militants were killed,” a security official said. “It was not clear if any high value target was present in the area at the time of attack,” he said, adding that identities of those killed in the strike were also not immediately known. Another intelligence official in Miranshah said the strike killed four militants. More than 250 people have been killed in 47 strikes since September 3. afp

Eight Pakistanis killed in Hangu

LAHORE:

Eight Pakistanis were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in the Lower Orakzai Agency on Friday, a private TV channel reported.

According to the sources, the attackers stormed the security forces’ checkpost in the Mushti Mela area of Hangu in the Lower Orakzai Agency. A security official was killed while the other was injured in the attack. The security forces retaliated and killed eight attackers, the channel reported. daily times monitor
