7 Iraqis Killed, Scores Injured in Attacks November 10, 2010 8 people wounded in rocket attack on fortified GZ November 10, 2010 - 03:54:06 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Eight persons were wounded Wednesday in a rocket attack on the fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad, according to a security source. “A number of rockets hit al-Qadissiya residential compound in the Green Zone, injuring eight people,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The wounded were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he added, without giving further details. The green zone, which houses Iraqi government buildings, and several major embassies in addition to US interests, is the target of frequent rocket and mortar attacks. SH (P)/SR Civilian killed, 10 others injured in west Baghdad blasts November 10, 2010 - 12:50:06 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A civilian has been killed and ten others injured in a booby-trapped car explosions and three explosive charges blast in western Baghdad on Tuesday night, according to security source on Wednesday. “A booby-trapped car blew up close to the office of the Iraqi Islamic Party in the Popular Action Street in west Baghdad’s Amiriya District on Tuesday night, killing one civilian and wounding six others,” he said. He added that three explosive charges blew up in west Baghdad’s Mansour district, wounding four citizens, who were driven to a nearby hospital. SKH/SR Three killed, 25 injured in 12 attacks on Baghdad Christians November 10, 2010 - 12:31:52 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Three people have been killed and 25 others injured in an attack by explosive charges and mortars on houses belonging to Christians in Baghdad on Wednesday morning by unknown gunmen, according to a security source. “Two persons have been killed and six others injured in three explosive charges blast, one close at central Baghdad’s Sinaa district,” he said, adding that a civilian had been killed and four others injured in two explosive charges blasts in east Baghdad’s Sara Camp. He added that “10 persons have been injured when two mortar shells fell on southern Baghdad’s Daura district, along with an explosive charge blast close to Saad bin Abi-Waqas school at the same district.” “Three other citizens have been injured in an explosive charge blast in Raghba Khatoun are in northern Baghdad’s Aadamiya district, along with the wounding of two persons by two explosive charges blast in Hay al-Ghadeer district, east of Baghdad,” he said, adding that all the attacks were pinpointed against Christians. SKH/SR Three Sahwa (US-recruited) forces men killed, 2 brothers injured in Babel November 10, 2010 - 11:39:58 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Three brothers, members of the pro-government Sahwa (Awakening) forces and two of their brothers have been injured in an explosive charge blast in northern Babel’s Iskandariyia town, a security source said on Wednesday. “An exposive charge, planted under a water pump at Shikhan village of Iskandariya town, 50 kms to the north of Hilla city, have killed three brothers and wounded two of their other brothers, all fom one family that were members of al-Sahwa (Awakening) forces,” he said, adding no further details. Hilla, the center of Babel Province,is 100 kms to the south of Baghdad. SKH/SR Eight missiles hit south Baghdad’s Daura district November 10, 2010 - 10:29:13 BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: At least eight Katyusha missiles fell on two areas of southern Baghdad’s Daura district, causing several casualties. The total toll of casualties from the missiles is not yet known, a police source said. “Al-Shurta (Police) and Iskan (Housing) areas of southern Baghdad’s Daura district, have become target to 8 Katyusha rockets,” he said, adding that the attack had caused several casualties, but he gave no further details.
