Israeli racist and aggressive acts will never break our will

The Palestinian forum in Britain stated Saturday that Israel’s racist policies and aggressive practices over 62 years will never break the will of the Palestinian people and their aspiration for restoring their legitimate rights, especially the right of return.

In a statement on behalf of the Palestinian community in Britain, the forum recalled the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe) that happened in 1948 and the genocide which the British mandate and invading Zionist gangs started to commit then against the Palestinian people, describing what happened as the largest ethnic cleansing in the contemporary world.

It warned that Israel’s persistence in its racist policies and denying the Palestinian rights that are stipulated by the international laws and conventions pose a threat to the peace and security in the world, urging the international community and its institutions to seriously move to get the usurped Palestinian rights back to their rightful owners.

The statement reminded Britain of its responsibility for the Palestinian Nakba and called on its new premier David Cameron to take a bold historical position that contributes to getting the Palestinian people’s rights restored and putting an end to the injustice inflicted on them by Israel.

The statement also emphasized the need to restore the inter-Palestinian unity based on a national agenda that safeguards the constants and rights and to stop the frivolous negotiations with Israel.

For its part, the Movement of Hamas organized in Lebanon a massive march on the borderline with occupied Palestine on the anniversary of the Nakba.

Hundreds of Palestinian refugees boarding buses flocked into the border area carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans for Palestine, the right of return, Jerusalem and the resistance.

In a speech during the march, senior Hamas official Ali Baraka said that 62 years of occupation will never make the Palestinian people forget their attachment to their homeland.

Baraka stressed that Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are guests and their project is to return to Palestine, adding Hamas will remain adherent to the option of resistance until Palestine is liberated and all refugees return to their homes they were expelled from in 1948.

He also highlighted that the Palestinian people reject all US plans to resettle them in other countries or in a small Palestinian state without sovereignty.
