Israeli court allows illegal settlers to shoot at Palestinians [ 26/03/2010 - 08:36 PM ] OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- In a very serious precedent that encourages settlers to carry and use firearms against Palestinian civilians, an Israeli occupation government court in the occupied city of Jerusalem ruled that it was legal for the illegal Israeli Jewish settlers to carry firearms and use them against Palestinians with the purpose of "dispersing them". An Israeli magistrates judge in occupied Jerusalem ruled last month that Abraham Hofi was not guilty a firearms offence when he shot on 6 May 2005 at Palestinian shepherds grazing their sheep a hundred meters from the fence of the settlement of Halmish, which is built on confiscated Palestinian land. The Palestinians shepherds testified in the court that Hofi shot at them intentionally and directly, and that a number of bullets were close to the sheep. They stressed that they own the land and that they have authentic title deeds to prove their claims, accusing the Israeli settlers of planning to seize their land to expand the settlement. Many Palestinian civilians were killed at the hand of armed Israeli settlers including the massacre of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil in 1994 were 29 Palestinian worshippers were killed by Israeli settler Barouch Goldstein while performing their dawn prayer inside the Mosque.
