March in Al-Aqsa Mosque in protest at Israel's decision to exile Hamas MPs

[ 26/06/2010 - 10:35 AM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

A large number of Palestinian worshipers participated in a march after Friday prayers in the main courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday in protest at the Israeli occupation government's decision to exile three Hamas lawmakers and one former minister from the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The protesters carried photographs of the lawmakers and the minister, and chanted slogans condemning Israel and hailing the four Palestinians' determination to confront the exile decision.

Before the march, preacher of the holy Mosque Sheikh Mohamed Hussein stated in his speech (sermon) that the decision to expel four Palestinians from their hometown was unjust and unacceptable, and part of Israel's Judaization activities in Jerusalem, especially in the areas of Al-Bustan and Sheikh Jarrah.

Meanwhile, violent clashes took place on the same day in Silwan town, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, with Israeli troops who attacked the worshipers after they finished their prayers in Al-Somoud (steadfastness) tent, which was established nine years ago following the eviction of Al-Kurd family from their home. Similar clashes broke out in the land of Abu Salah family, whose home was seized forcibly last year by extremist Israeli settlers.

The angry young men confronted the Israeli assailants, who stole the house, and managed to remove the Israeli flag from the roof.

[ 25/06/2010 - 01:41 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation government gave an ultimatum to  Sheikh Muhammad Abu Teir,  member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) to leave Jerusalem by Friday evening or be arrested and expelled from his city.

A press release from the office of the Change and Reform Bloc on Thursday said that Sheikh Abu Teir received a phone call from the occupation authority ordering him to leave the city of Jerusalem before Friday evening after an Israeli court endorsed the occupation government's decision to expel him from city, after his release from Israeli jails were he spent the last three years.

The Bloc consider the decision as a Zionist racist decision that was taken at the highest political levels and that it shows the extent of danger the Zionist scheme presents to Jerusalem and its indigenous population who are threatened with expulsion from their own city and that the Zionist state has started with the expulsion of their legitimate elected representatives.

The other MP's who are threatened with expulsion from the holy city are Ahmad Attoun, Muhammad Toutah and Khaled Abu Arafeh.
