Jewish Businessmen Negotiating With Greek Orthodox Patriarchate to Renew Jerusalem Land Leases Tuesday June 22, 2010 11:18 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies Israeli sources reported that a number of Jewish businessmen are holding talks with the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem, controlled and dominated by the Orthodox Patriarchate in Greece, in order to renew land leases in the city. Some of Israel’s main government buildings, such as the Knesset, the
president’s residence and office, Chief Rabbinate, and hundreds of units
for Jewish settlers are built on lands leased from the patriarchate.
