Koreans Protest Visit by President of Apartheid Israeli State, Shimon Peres [ 10/06/2010 - 10:06 AM ] SEOUL, (PIC)-- Tens of South Korean activists on Thursday protested the visit to their country of Israeli occupation apartheid government president, Shimon Peres, describing him as "killer". The activists gathered outside the Israeli embassy in Seoul to protest last week's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla. Some defaced an Israeli flag with palm prints stained in the color of blood in a symbolic reference to victims of the Israeli raid. "We are here to denounce the (president) Lee Myung-Bak government for welcoming the internationally criticized president," Choi Hun-Kook, one of the demonstrators, said beside a banner reading "Shimon Peres the Killer". "Lift the siege on Gaza immediately," read another banner held by Choi and his colleagues. A ceremony originally planned for Wednesday at the prestigious Korea University to award Peres an honorary doctorate was cancelled. Peres was supposed to head to Vietnam at conclusion of his South Korea visit but Vietnam cancelled the trip in protest over the attack on the Freedom Flotilla that left dozens killed and wounded.
