Israeli Occupation Forces Demolish Palestinian Homes, Shops, West of Ramallah and Naqab

Israel demolishes two Palestinian houses in the Naqab

[ 21/07/2010 - 09:47 AM ]

NAZARETH, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation government policemen and special security units accompanied municipality teams that demolished Palestinian houses in Beir Hadaj and Ma'arash villages in the Naqab area (Negev), occupied in 1948.

Ibrahim Wakili, the head of the regional council for non-recognized villages, said that the campaign falls in line with the Israeli attempt to destroy Arab homes in the Negev.

He said that Israel's repeated demolition attempts would not be of any use because inhabitants of those villages, which are not recognized by Israel and are not supplied with any municipal services, are adamant on remaining in their homes and land and had rebuilt homes previously destroyed by Israel.

IOF troops raze Palestinian homes, shop

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) razed two Palestinian homes and a shop in Laban Gharbi village, west of Ramallah city, on Wednesday at the pretext of lack of construction permit.

Local sources said that big numbers of those soldiers in tens of armored vehicles imposed a tight siege on the village before the military bulldozers started to knock down the two houses.

They added that the IOF soldiers served demolition notices to owners of ten other houses in the same village at the usual pretext of not obtaining prior construction permits.

The village is located in the area C under full Israeli security and civil control as stipulated in the Oslo accords.

Hebrew media revealed a few days ago that the Israeli occupation authority had ordered the IOF to embark on a large-scale demolition campaign of Palestinian homes in area C, alleging they threatened Israel and settlers' security since they are located on roads used by those settlers.

Israeli Occupation Forces Demolish Palestinian Homes, Shops

 Ramallah – Ma’an –

Israeli occupation forces demolished eight structures belonging to Palestinians in a residential area northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

Al-Gharbi mayor Ghassan Abu Salem said more than a dozen military vehicles carrying armed soldiers arrived mid-morning Wednesday with military equipment to carry out the demolitions.

"They immediately began tearing down the structures," Abu Salem said. "They were homes and shops right on the main street, but the army said they were illegally built in 'Area C'," which falls under Israeli control.

Young men from the Palestinian village threw stones at the Israeli occupation forces who were guarding the construction equipment after they carried out the demolitions, the official said. There were no reports of injury.

Two of the demolished structures were home to the families of Nedham 'Attallah and Ahmed Ya’aqoub, who are now staying with relatives. Nedham was preparing to host a wedding for his son Friday at the home, "but the bulldozers smashed it down to rubble," Abu Salem said.

Two other homes were demolished, as well, one which was already complete with the owners set to move in over the weekend, Abu Salem said. Also demolished were shops and agricultural buildings, he said.

Palestinians say the targeted area is home to many of the village's 1,500 residents.

"The matter is indicative of the occupation authorities' ongoing determination to eradicate the Palestinian presence in these areas for the benefit of settlers and settlements,” Abu Salem said.
