Israeli War Criminal Ehud Barak to Meet with Mubarak in Sharm El-Shaikh

Israeli occupation government responsible for the Israeli war crimes in Gaza in January 2009, defenseminister Ehud Barak, will be heading to Cairo to hold a meeting with Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, on Wednesday morning. It will be held at the Egyptian resort of Sharm al-Sheikh.

Israeli Radio reported that the meeting would focus on the situation in the Palestinian territories, and Egypt’s “demand” that Israel must lift the siege on Gaza.

The two leaders would also discuss the outcome of U.S. peace envoy, George Mitchell’s tour in the region, the stalled prisoner-swap deal between Israel and Hamas, and the ongoing installation of the Iron Wall between Gaza and Egypt.

The wall, intended to reach down to over 30 meters underground, is being build to curb the flow of weapons into Gaza through subterranean tunnels, Egyptian officials report. The project is being supervised and supported by American engineers.

Egypt’s construction of the wall is observed as further complicity in Israel’s illegal siege on the Gaza Strip, and the starvation of its residents.

Hundreds of patients have died due to their inability to leave the besieged region for critical medical care that the hospitals in Gaza are unable to provide. This situation is exacerbated by the ongoing crisis of depleted medical supplies.
