Al-Aqsa Mosque Is the Property of 1.5 Billion Muslims, Not Just Palestinian Muslims, Says Shaikh Ekrema Sabri

Aqsa foundation: Aqsa walls cracked

[ 09/02/2010 - 09:41 AM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage that caters for Muslim holy shrines in Palestine disclosed that big cracks were seen in the northern wall of the Aqsa Mosque.

According to a press release issued by the foundation and published by the Quds Press on Tuesday, the cracks were expanding day after day, and described the situation as "serious".

The foundation quoted analysts and experts as asserting that based on the examinations they have conducted, the cracks were the result of the continued Israeli excavations near the wall, particularly under the Omari school, which is located within the zone of the Mosque.

However, the foundation highlighted that the Israeli excavations were more than what had been discovered so far, warning that the continuation of those excavations pose direct threat to the Mosque, and would sooner or later affect its existence.

Nevertheless, the foundation vowed to expose the Israeli practices against the Mosque, urging, at the same time, Arab and Muslim countries to stand up in defense of the first Muslim Qiblah.

Sabri: Aqsa Mosque was and will remain a red line

[ 09/02/2010 - 03:51 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Shaikh Ekrema Sabri, the head of the higher Islamic authority, has warned of messing with the holy Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

Sabri in a statement on Tuesday held the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) fully responsible for any tampering with the holy Mosque.

The Shaikh was commenting on the reported dream by one of the Jewish rabbis in the 18th century about the establishment of the "Ruined Synagogue" in the Old City of Jerusalem by 17/3/2010 which would mean the start of building the alleged temple.

He said that dreams and prophecies do not prove a right and do not give the Jews any right to the Aqsa Mosque, as they are mere imaginations that lack any proof or verification.

The authority chief said that the IOA established a new synagogue in Jerusalem and called it the "Ruined Synagogue" to materialize the alleged prophecy, which is in fact a premeditated plan to attack the Aqsa and justify the establishment of the alleged temple.

The Aqsa Mosque is the sole right of one and a half billion Muslims worldwide, the Shaikh underlined, adding that the Aqsa is part of the Islamic creed and belief.

He said that the Aqsa guards and Muslim worshipers would continue to defend the Aqsa Mosque in face of any danger, emphasizing that he Aqsa was and would remain a red line.

Sabri asked the Arab and Islamic regimes to assume their duties toward Jerusalem and the Aqsa especially at the upcoming Arab summit in Libya next month.
