US State Department Delegation, Headed by James Steinberg, in Israel to Show Support for the Israeli Occupation Government !

It's amazing that pro-Israel US government officials, such as James Steinberg, do not find it awkward or embarrassing to announce commitment and support for the Israeli occupation government, which has continued to subjugate the Palestinian in defiance to the UN resolutions.

It's time for the US government officials to oppose practices of the Israeli occupation government, not giving support to its aggression against the Palestinian people.

US delegation in Israel for intel, security talks

A senior US official arrived in Israel on Tuesday for three days of “strategic dialogue” that the American State Department notes as a show of support for Israel and the country's security.

The US State Department said Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg’s participation in the talks “demonstrates the United States’ continued commitment to Israeli security, including working toward a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.”

The statement continued, saying “the Strategic Dialogue is an ongoing process that the United States values as a meaningful tool to discuss a wide range of issues that concern both of our countries.”

Other top officials will also reportedly participate in the talks, including Under Secretary of Defense Michèle Flournoy, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence David C Gompert, and representatives from the National Security Council and the Department of State.

The talks follow visits to Israel by Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Deputy Secretary of State Jacob Lew.
