A Second Palestinian Killed In Tunnel Accident In Rafah, in Few Days

Sunday January 31, 2010 08:53 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies

Palestinian medical sources reported Saturday that a man was killed by an electric shock in a tunnel in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

The resident was identified as Ashraf Al Attar, 23. His body was moved to a local hospital before it was transferred to a forensic center, the Maan News Agency reported.

On Thursday evening, resident Ramzi Al Aqra’, 21, was killed after a tunnel collapse on him near the borders in Rafah.

Several residents were killed in similar accidents while digging tunnels across the border or while attempting to transfer goods and foodstuffs through the tunnels.

Tunnels became the main source of goods and supplies due to the ongoing illegal Israeli siege on Gaza Strip.
