Iranian FM, Manouchehr Mottaki, Lashes Out at
West's Silence on Israel's Crimes in Region
December 10, 2010
TEHRAN (FNA)-
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a meeting with his
Australian counterpart Kevin Rudd on Thursday blasted the western
countries for their silence and ignorance with regard to the savage
crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the regional countries.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the third meeting of
the Democracy Forum in Bali, Indonesia, Mottaki regretted that the
Western states were keeping their eyes closed on the illegal acts and
crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the region.
He also
reiterated that the Zionist regime and its nuclear weapons were roots of
every problem in the region.
If the Western states had adopted a
realistic viewpoint and looked at the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
through a comprehensive and non-selective point of view, then things
could have moved towards interaction and cooperation instead of
confrontation, Mottaki said.
He criticized the West's double
standard policy towards Iran for its peaceful nuclear program noting
that Tehran and Canberra could make "constructive" consultations at the
international arena for nuclear disarmament.
Iranian officials
have always called Israel root cause of all wars and crimes in the
region.
Earlier, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called
the Zionist regime of Israel a "racist group", blaming all wars and
crimes on Zionists.
The Zionist regime (of Israel) is the origin
of all wars, genocide, terrors and crimes against humanity and it is a
racist entity which does not respect human principles, Ahmadinejad said
in March.
He also cautioned that the Zionist regime is seeking
hegemony over the world, and added, "It is a well-known fact today that
the Zionist regime's mission is occupation, threat, violence, war
mongering and paving the ground for oppressors' hegemony."
Stressing that the Zionist regime was created by the arrogant powers to
serve as a base in this sensitive region, the Iranian president stated,
"Zionists do not adhere to any religion. Furthermore they are against
the prophets."
He also lambasted the claims made by the
supporters of the Zionist regime about defending human rights, and added
that supporters of the Zionist regime who are shouting slogans for human
rights and anti-terrorism, support organized crimes of the occupying
regime.
