Seeing no opposition from US, Arab leaders, Israeli occupation government proceeds to new provocations building another synagogue near Al-Aqsa Mosque

New Israeli plan to build another synagogue near Al-Aqsa Mosque exposed

 [02/04/2010 - 06:53 PM ]

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Palestinian rights sources have exposed Thursday a new Israeli plan to build a synagogue near Al-Aqsa Mosque similar to the Hurva (Destruction) synagogue, grabbing more Palestinian lands and creating more facts on the ground before any negotiations, and to settle more illegal  Israeli settlers in the area.

(The move comes after the Israeli occupation government had assessed the world reactions to the construction of the first synagogue near Al-Aqsa Mosque. Seeing no actions from their US patrons, EU supporters, impotent Arab and Muslim leaders, they have now proceeded to more provocations and more grabbing of Palestinian property and more changes in the Palestinian occupied city of Jerusalem).

Qais Nasser, a specialist in the Jerusalem affairs revealed to Al-Jazeera net that the Israeli archeological department was behind the plan and supported it along with the “Jewish suburb development company”.

According to Nasser, the new synagogue was named as “Israel's pride” and is located only 200 meters away from the Aqsa Mosque, adding that the new synagogue and the Hurva (Destruction) synagogue represent a turning point in the accelerated Israeli plans to judaize Jerusalem, and to distort Muslim and Christian landmarks in it.

He added that the height of the new synagogue would be 27 meters with four stories, pointing out that the new synagogue could also be used by the Israeli occupation authorities for security purposes as it overlooks the Aqsa Mosque.

Moreover, Nasser warned that the IOA considers the construction of the two synagogues to represent the “return of the people of Israel to their land”, and that both would serve as a weapon to impose facts on the ground and to ensure Jewish majority in the holy city.
