Villagers Near Bethlehem Protest The Israeli Wall Built On Their Lands

Residents of Al-Ma’assara village near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem protest on Friday midday the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall built on their lands.

Villagers, joined by International and Israeli supporters marched from the village towards the wall construction site in their land.

Israeli occupation soldiers erected a checkpoint using razor-wire and stopped the marchers from reaching the wall. Soldiers used batons and riffle buts to push the villagers away from the construction place.

Organizers delivered speeches demanding Israel to stop building the wall and settlement, emphasizing that there can be no peace as long as the wall and settlement continue to deprive Palestinians from their land. People dispersed shortly after. Today’s protest was in commemoration of the Palestinian Nakba of 1948.

Al-Walaja Villagers Protest The Wall Being Built On Their Lands

Around 200 villagers along with international supporters gathered in Al-Walaja village south of Jerusalem on Friday to protest the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall being built on their lands.

The protest started at the local mosque after the midday prayers and headed towered the wall construction site. This mosque is slated for demolition by the Israeli army because it lacks the needed permission.

Al-Walaja village was annexed by Israel in 1949 but the residents were not granted Israeli IDs. The military do not give residents any permission to build homes or public facilities.

Villagers delivered speeches and demanded the halt of the construction of the wall. Later people erected a barrier using stones at the path of the bulldozers.

The protest ended peacefully as Israeli troops kept their distance and did not attack the action on Friday.

The Israeli army resumed woke at this section of the wall on Thursday. Since then army bulldozers had uprooted 100 olive trees owned by local farmers.

Seven Injured in The Weekly Nil’in Anti-Wall Protest

Seven local youth were injured at the village of Nil’in, central West Bank during the weekly anti wall protest on Friday.

Villagers along with international and Israeli supporters held the midday prayers at lands near  the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall, which Israeli occupation army announced a closed military zone.

Later protesters marched to the gate of the Wall separating farmers from their lands. Troops fired tear gas and sound bombs at the protesters.

The nonviolent weekly action ended on Friday with clashes between the military and local youth. Seven were slightly injured during the ensued clashes.
