Clinton, Judeh, Moratinos, Kochner Lament Lack of Peace in the Middle East, While Helping the Israeli Occupation Government!

Editor's Note:

The Israeli occupation government cannot continue its occupation of Palestine and subjugation of the Palestinian people without assistance from its enablers in the US-EU, Egyptian, and Jordanian governments.

When the foreign ministers of these governments, which support the Israeli aggression, lament the lack of peace in the Middle East, they are just paying a lip service. They know that Israeli government is the one blocking the peace process but they don't have the courage to say that, let alone to criticize the defiant Zionist state.

Jordan FM says Israel relations tense

Bethlehem – Ma'an/Agencies –

Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh said Friday that relations between Jordan and Israel "are cold and will continue to be cold until real progress is made toward establishing a Palestinian state."

Judeh told Al-Arabiya that the stances of Israel and the Palestinians should be brought closer, and affirmed the importance of the American role in bringing the two sides to the negotiating table.

The official also demanded that Israel clarify its recent military order permitting the expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank.

Meanwhile, Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Miguel Angel Moratinos said the world will recognize a Palestinian state negotiated between Palestinians and Israelis. "We, the Europeans, are encouraging them, and they have to choose the suitable means," Moratinos said.

"We support the plan of Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, which he presented to the Quartet," the foreign minister added.

Moratinos added that "Israel is a state that exists and is recognized by the international community, save some Arab states, so the Palestinian state should be recognized after an agreement between the parties through negotiations."

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kochner said Arab League states, the EU, and the US are convinced that there should be two states, "one of them Palestinian living in freedom and democracy alongside Israel with Jerusalem as both states' capital."

Clinton: Stalemate threatens regional stability

 Bethlehem - Ma'an -

The lack of peace between Israelis and Palestinians threatens Israel's future, holds back the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people, and destabilizes the region and beyond, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday.

"Every step back from the peace table and every flare-up in violence undermines the positive players across the region who seek to turn the page and focus on building a more hopeful and prosperous Middle East," Clinton said.

Speaking in Washington at the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace, Clinton asserted that Israel's failure to pursue a comprehensive peace takes place in an "ideological struggle" for the future of the region, emboldens Hamas, and undermines President Mahmoud Abbas' credibility.
