Villagers, along with international and Israeli supporters, protested on Friday at the village of Ni'lin, central West Bank, the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall.

Villagers conducted midday prayers at lands close to the wall then marched towards it. Israeli occupation forces were heavily deployed at the gate of the wall separating farmers from their lands. Protester gathered at the gate and organizers delivered speeches in commemoration of Dair Yassin.

Later, soldiers used tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets to disperse the crowd. Dozens suffered from the effects of tear gas inhalation. The nonviolent weekly protest ended with clashes between local youths and troops.

On April 19th 1948 Etzel and Lechi zionist military organizations attacked Deir Yassin, a village with about 750 Palestinian residents located near Jerusalem.

These military organizations became part of the Israeli army when the country was officially recognized.

Over 100 men, women, and children were systematically murdered. Fifty-three orphaned children were left along the wall of Jerusalem’s Old City, where they were found by Miss Hind Husseini who brought them to her home, which was to become the Dar El-Tifl El-Arabi orphanage.

Palestinian Journalist Arrested In Bil’in While Documenting Demonstration

On Friday Palestinians, Israeli, and International activists marched to the wall built on the central west Bank village of Bil’in lands.

Today’s protest was in commemoration of the April 19th 1948 Dair Yassin massacre. Etzel and Lechi Zionist military organizations attacked Dair Yassin, a village near Jerusalem and killed 100 civilians.

As demonstrators reached the gate of the wall soldiers began firing tear gas at the crowd. At one point soldiers used a cannon that shoots 30 canisters of gas at once to disperse the crowd. Soldiers also used live ammunition and rubber coated bullets against non-violent demonstrators today.

Palestinian Journalist and videographer Haitham Al Khatib from Bil’in was detained by Israeli occupation forces who invaded the village after the protest. Al Khatib also works with the Israeli human rights information center B’tselem; he returned to the village on Thursday from a three-week tour in Europe where he was showing his latest film “Life on Wheels”.

The film looks at occupation in Bil’in through the experience of Jody McIntire an International activist from the EU.

Al-Ma’assara Village Near Bethlehem Protest The Israeli-built Wall

Residents of Al-Ma’ssara village near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem protest on Friday midday the Israeli-built wall on their lands.

The Israeli occupation forces invaded on Thursday Al-Ma’assara village and threatened local organizers of detention if the anti wall protest continue.

Villagers were joined by International and Israeli supporters. People marched from the village towards the wall construction site. Israeli occupation forces erected a checkpoint using razor-wire and stopped people for reaching the wall site.

Organizers delivered speeches demanding Israeli to stop building the wall and settlement. People dispersed shortly after. Today’s protest was in commemoration of the April 19th 1948 Dair Yassin massacre.
