Plans to file lawsuit against EU to abort its economic agreement with Israel for violations, war crimes in Gaza Plans to file lawsuit against EU to abort its economic agreement with Israel [ 03/09/2009 - 12:24 PM ] BRUSSELS, (PIC)-- The European campaign for ending the siege on Gaza Strip declared on Wednesday its intention to file a lawsuit in cooperation with active figures in Europe against the European Union (EU) in order to force it to end its economic partnership agreement with Israel. In a press release, the campaign said that it had called on the EU over and over to end its economic agreement with Israel, but it always refused to take action in this regard in spite of the violations of human rights and atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, in January 2009.It explained that it has embarked since the beginning of this month in cooperation with a number of European figures including former British minister of international development Clare Short to take legal steps to file a lawsuit with the European court of justice against the EU. The campaign, according to it, commissioned a legal team which started to address the EU to clarify some points about its economic agreement and its violation of the EU’s pledges on human rights.
