International campaign for the release of Palestinian legislators from Israeli occupation prisons asks for European parliament support

[ 14/09/2009 - 01:27 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

The international campaign to release kidnapped Palestinian MPs from Israeli occupation government (IOG) jails has asked president of the European parliament Jerzy Buzek to immediately activate the case of those kidnapped deputies.

Chairman of the campaign MP Mushir Al-Masri said in a press release on Sunday that he addressed a message to Buzek asking him to raise the question of those detained lawmakers in the international platform with the world decision-makers.

He appealed to the European parliament to adopt practical and courageous positions that would expose the IOA practices against the detained MPs.

Masri pointed to the repeated IOA violations of international laws and norms and the blatant challenges to the fourth Geneva Convention and the international humanitarian law as evident in the IOA constant attempt to wipe out the Palestinian legitimacy.

He called for serious and responsible pressures on the IOA to release those deputies.

Arab parliament refuses normalization before full withdrawal

[ 15/09/2009 - 10:46 AM ]

DAMASCUS, (PIC)--

The transitory Arab parliamentary union has refused calls for normalization of relations with Israel before its complete withdrawal from all Arab lands occupied in 1967.

The parliament in a final statement at conclusion of its second session for 2009 in Damascus on Monday also affirmed the Arab identity of occupied Jerusalem and its absolute rejection of the Israeli occupation authority's judaization of the holy city and attempts to wipe out its Arab identity.

It supported the Palestinian refugees' right of return, and said that the Palestine cause is a pivotal Arab question.

The Arab parliamentarians championed an early end to the internal Palestinian discord, and urged the Palestinians to cement their ranks and stick to national unity as the path towards the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
