Turkey Cancels Military Exercises with NATO Forces Because of Israeli Participation Turkey cancels military air drills because of Israeli participation [ 08/10/2009 - 08:08 PM ] ISTANBUL, (PIC)-- Turkey has canceled military air maneuvers that were supposed to be held in participation of Israel, the US, Italy and the NATO. Turkish media sources reported Thursday that the spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Ankara confirmed that the aerial drills which were due to take place at an air force base in Konya city, central Turkey, later this month was cancelled by Turkey. He said he did not know if this cancellation would be only in this year or it would be permanent. The decision has been widely welcomed by the Turkish people in light of the Zionist attacks on Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque. The Turkish street had called premier Recep Erdogan not to allow the Israeli military war places which bombed Palestinian homes to participate in military drills over Turkey’s airspace.
